Cid Pollendina

“Ahh, go shave your ears! Doggone…”

“An engineer in Baron who knows more about building airships than anyone. Cid is the chief mechanic for the airships used by the Baron Red Wings, and is idolized by his apprentices. He treats Cecil like his own flesh and blood, having taken an interest in the boy since Cecil’s childhood. After Cecil becomes a Paladin and returns to Baron Castle, he reunites with Cid. The two of them leave together on the airship Enterprise. Although Cid largely stays away from the front lines, he aids the party by making improvements to the airship.”

– Taken from the Ultimania

The Father of a Daughter that has no name, or at least we never find out what her name is.

Cid Pollendina, a master Engineer, that builds ships. Airships to be exact. Hails from the Kingdom of Baron, and knows Cecil, Rosa and Kain, well before the story begins.

Cid is one of the first to speak to Cecil after he is demoted from Captain of the Red Wings. Cid runs off shortly after as his daughter gets worried about Cid and scolds him when he gets home from work late. She worries that Cid will overwork himself.

Cid builds The Enterprise, and hides it from the King of Baron, which causes the King to imprison Cid. He is then rescued by Cecil, Tellah, Fang and the twins Palom & Porom.

Cid then goes on and lets Cecil and Co. use The Enterprise. And off the go to save the world.

Wakka, Wakka, Wakka

“My fastball gone broke da mouth.”

“A good-humored young man who travels the world as one of Yuna’s guardians. While he always looks out for others, his dependence on the teachings of Yevon oftentimes causes him to lose sight of reality. Wakka’s biggest passion is playing for and coaching his blitzball team, the Besaid Aurochs.”

-Character Guide from Dissidia Final Fantasy : Opera Omnia

Having lost his parents from one of Sin’s attacks, Wakka raised his younger brother Chappu with help from the villagers of Besaid. Wakka grew up alongside Lulu, an orphan as well, and ended up marrying her, fathers a child. And worries about raising it.

Wakka is a skilled Blitzball player, Captain of the Besaid Aurochs. Wakka retires during the game, but you can bring him out of retirement later on in the game. The Aurochs aren’t the greatest team, far from it, and upon hearing that Tidus is a star player, he asks him to join the team.

His hate for the Al-Bhed is clearly shown throughout the game. As he is always talking down to Rikku, until he finds out that Yuna is 1/2 Al-Bhed. And after the attack on the Al-Bhed by the Guado, he changes his tune completely.

The Curious Card of Benjamin

5CP/Earth
Forward
Warrior
Common

Damage 3 ― Benjamin gains +1000 power and Brave.
Damage 5 ― When Benjamin enters the field, choose 1 dull Character opponent controls. Break it.

Let’s take a look at what we wrote when Emissaries of Light came out.

“They finally added a Mystic Quest character to the game. All we need now is 8bit FFI characters. Come on Square-Enix you can do it.

High cost, high power. And Benjamin gets stronger at 3 points of Damage.

Throw him in late in the game and you’ll also Break one of your opponents dull Forwards.”

Can’t say that much has changed since Emissaries of Light came out.

Benjamin is a Common, so he doesn’t have any great abilities to help you out until you get 5 points of damage. But he is a great meat shield, even if he costs 5CP, he’ll still take a hit and stay standing.

Benjamin

“My allowance is only 2GP a month!”

“While on a solitary journey, this young lad is caught by catastrophe. Meeting a mysterious old man, he learns of the danger threatening the world and the possibility that there might just be a hero within him…”

– CollectaCard

We don’t know much about Benjamin’s past.

Benjamin’s story starts off when his village is destroyed, and an old man on a cloud tells him he is the chosen one, destined to defeat the Vile Four and save the Crystals.

Benjamin meets various Characters throughout the game that help him out. Kaeli, Tristam, Phoebe and Reuben. The four come in and out of the party throughout the game, with Kaeli being Benjamin’s main ally.

Cor Leonis

“How long will you remain the protected? The king entrusted the role of protector to you.”

“Head of the Crownsguard and widely regarded as one of the three most powerful warriors in the Kingdom of Lucis. His unfailing ability to return from the brink of death has earned him the nickname “Cor the Immortal”—an appellation he particularly dislikes. On the eve of the signing ceremony, Regis tasked Cor with evacuating the citizens ahead of the imperial assault, knowing he could trust the marshal implicitly. After fleeing the ruins of Insomnia, he seeks out Noctis to share with him his late father’s dying wishes.

Cor holds the distinct honor of having served three separate Lucian monarchs: Mors, Regis, and Noctis. While his loyalty to his lieges has never wavered, his attitude toward authority has evolved over the years. In the arrogance of his youth, he publicly criticized Regis’s retreat from Accordo in the Great War, calling the then-crown prince and his men “a bunch of cowards.” While Cor’s Crownsguard colleagues were incensed by this show of impertinence, Regis was impressed with the young firebrand’s willingness to speak truth to power and immediately hired him as a personal bodyguard. The marshal was so touched by this show of grace that he swore to devote his life to serving Regis and his son Noctis.”

-Dossier Entry

Cor, the Immortal.

Commander of the Crownsguard.

Leader of the Kingslaive.

The personal bodyguard of the late King Mors, who went on to be the personal bodyguard of the late King Regis as well. He isn’t Noctis’s bodyguard, but he still serves him. Cor has served the Royal family for 3 generations. Which makes his story a pretty big one, but since I haven’t finished FFXV, I really can’t get into that.

All I can tell you is that Cor helps Noctis escape from Insomnia, and that even though he butts heads with Ignis, he still watches over Noctis and his party. Cor is the one to tell Noctis that he must collect the weapons of the late Kings.
