Spoiler Season Has Arrived

Spoiler Season is here. We got ourselves the first reveals of Crystal Dominion. One of each element. These cards were revealed in the Japanese Magazine Card Gamer. Square Enix was kind enough to post pictures of the cards in English. Remember when they said that they would introduce Crystals? Well these cards have abilities that use Crystals to pay for the cost.

Samurai, a 2CP Backup that gives you a Crystal when she enters the field. You’ll be able to discard this card with her ability so you can play another one after, or another card that will work with what you’re trying to accomplish.

Snow. Now with Snow you can pay a Crystal and choose between Freezing all the Forward or Backups.

Kytes doesn’t use Crystals but can save a Sky Pirate from being broken. I like the artwork even though it looks like it was drawn in MS Paint. It’s also one of the first Full Arts we see from Crystal Dominion.

Hecantoncheir. Here’s another Full Art. Hecantoncheir is a Summon that can wipe out the board. Cheaper than Shantotto.

Lady Lilith. Our first Legend with the ability to Gain Crystals by removal, and then you can either use those Crystals for Haste or Removal.

Penelo will be joining your Sky Pirate Deck. It’ll be like your playing Revenant Wings with Kytes, and I’m sure Vaan will make his appearance somewhere.

What’s In Store?

How do we go about saying that we will start carrying more TCGs?

More variety. More fun. And, more unboxings for our YouTube channel.

Something like that.

As some of you may have seen, we already started carrying some Cardfight Vanguard. Some of you may have already ordered some as well. But, we’re not stopping there. We’re also looking at getting some Pokemon, MetaZoo, and Weiss Schwarz. We have already placed orders for some product, but these are all pre-orders and we are expecting them starting in October.

If I remember correctly MetaZoo should be the first one up. Nightfall is set for release on October 20th. As soon as we have confirmation of how many we will be getting, we will list them up for ordering. If you want to save one for yourself you can send us an e-mail and we’ll put you down for one. Boxes will be limited, how limited we do not know yet, but it will be first come, first served.

Pokemon, Fusion Strike will be heading our way November, 12th. Same thing goes for these as well. Weiss Schwarz, Date a Bullet for December, 3rd and RWBY for December, 17th.

We’ll also have a page set up for upcoming releases. That way you’ll be able to see what will be on our horizon, and you can always drop us a line to reserve a copy.

Emissaries of Light

We finally got the reveal of “Opus XVI”!!!

But, it’s not Opus XVI anymore, no more Opus. There is only the title now. Emissaries of Light. Serah shares the Box Art with her sister Lightning and, this is the 4th time Lightning appears on the Box. 3 times more than anybody else.

Release Date is set for March 25th, 2022. Emissaries of Light comes with 130 cards. Plus the 10 Starter cards in the FFX Custom Deck. And we get 166 Premium cards. Or Foils. 24 of the Foils will be Full Arts. That leaves us with 2 cards. Which are most likely the Premium Crystal Cards that will make their first appearance in “Crystal Dominion”.

The sample artwork we got is, once again a card from each element. Other than the cover art card, which will probably be Serah, just because of the Ice element, unless the have the Farron Sisters as one card. Luneth, Fire original art there. Sort of looks like Tom Cruise from “Interview with a Vampire” Wind gives us Cecil which is probably the best looking card out of the 6. Layle is the sample Earth card, nice art work there as well as Water, with Sarah from Mobius. And Reeves, looks like a leftover from the Shinra VS AVALANCHE Starter decks. Upon closer look you can tell that Reeves is the only Backup, while the rest are Forwards.

It also looks like some of the Starter cards will get the Full Art Foil treatment, and these ones will also get new artwork. And, we can’t forget about the Legacy Full Arts.

Lightning (1-141L)
Lenna (3-144L)
Vayne (9-022L)

FFX Custom Starter Deck

We got some news today. Final Fantasy X Custom Starter Set. Set for release in 2022. These usually come out a month before the new set comes out. Crystal Dominion is November, so “Opus XVI” (we’ll just call it that till we get the official name for it), should be coming out in February. That means this deck will be out in January 2022.

Comes with a 50 card Wind/Water deck, and another 50 cards that you would be able to change around as you see fit. 24 pre-configured Fire cards, that you’ll be able to switch out Wind or Water with. The rest of the cards will be 7 Fire, 7 Wind, 8 Water, and 4 cards will be Light and Dark. Probably 2 Light and 2 Dark.

There will be 10 new Starter cards that come in this deck, and since they are numbered, we know that “Opus XVI” will have 140 cards. But, we’re not here for that. Here’s the list.

Jecht – 16-131S Fire
Bahamut – 16-132S Fire
Braska – 16-133S Fire
Yuna – 16-134S Wind
Lulu – 16-135S Wind
Auron – 16-136S Water
Rikku – 16-137S Water
Wakka – 16-138S Water
Tidus – 16-139S Light
Sin – 16-140S Dark

Now let’s take a look at that Tidus card, real quick. Even though we won’t get it for another 4-5 months. This card is money. You’ll most likely come out ahead cost wise. You’ll be searching for a card, and depending on the FFX Forwards you have on the field, you’ll be up 2CP.

And when Tidus attacks all your Forwards gain +2K Power. I might dust off the Opus I FFX Starter deck and just add this card to it. Rikku (1-201S) will be pretty much unbeatable.

Opus XIV : Crystal Abyss Prerelease Kit

The Opus XIV : Crystal Abyss Prerelease Kit has been revealed. With The Emperor on the box, this will be our first taste at playing a game with these cards. Due to come out on July, 31st 2021.

The Kit contains 9 packs, the new standard for these Prerelease Kits. The Tifa Promo card, and the sleeves. I thought it was Warmech, but on closer inspection it looks like it might be Omega Weapon. The Omega on his chest and arm gives it away. Either way the artwork looks amazing.

On to the card.

Tifa – Avalanche Operative
Forward
2CP – Fire/Earth
5000 Power

“When Tifa enters the field, you may search for 1 Card Name Cloud and add it to your hand.

When a Forward other than Tifa you control attacks, it gains +1000 power until the end of the turn.

Damage 6 – When Tifa enters the field, you may play 1 Category VII Character from your hand onto the field.”

Either of the 2 Clouds from Opus XI, will work great here, and at Damage 6, Sephiroth (11-130L) will be a great card to play.

But, the question is is it worth playing this Tifa over the Opus XI Tifa (11-071L)?
