A Hole In My Pocket

After I had gotten the packs at Gamer’s World, I knew I needed more. But, couldn’t find a reason to go to the mall other than getting more packs. I knew I had an itch that needed scratching, and there was only one way to do it. I ended up going to Target after work, to get some things that we needed around the house. And, decided to check out the card section.

There they were. I saw them right away packs of Opus III, Opus IV, and Opus VI. I had to get them. And, I did. Couple packs of each Opus. I went home and opened them up, but it was not enough. I needed more. The next morning I headed to Target before work and bought out the rest of the packs.

There they were in my pocket the whole day begging to be opened.

The day went by ever so slowly, and when it was time to go home, I decided I should hit up another Target, we could always use a few more packs. I was buying so many packs over the next couple of weeks, that it was draining my pocket at a fast pace. Whenever my wife would go to the mall, I would have her pick up a couple of packs. Turns out one of the employees that worked there, was a patron at our restaurant. So, we started talking and got to know him. He said they were trying to get a FFTCG night at the card shop. I would always say I wanted to go, but my schedule would not allow it.

I decided that, instead of packs, I should just buy a box. It would be cheaper, and I would get a whole bunch of packs to open. I found a box of Opus I, for 80 bucks. I wish I would have bought more, now that they’re hitting 300. But, I probably would have opened them all up anyway.

The box lasted me 3 days. I knew I could have opened it all up on the first day, but I was trying to pace myself.

It’s Been A While – Site Update

Yes, I know.

It’s been a while since we last posted. Mostly because, … well, we were just trying to get all the cards listed before Opus XIII came out. Which was supposed to be today. Waiting for the Pre-release kits to come out last week, and when they weren’t arriving at the distributor, I thought, something is not right here. Couple days later, Square Enix announced that Opus XIII will come out at the end of April. Same with the Chaos Boss Decks. Although Europe and Japan already have all of these, we can’t complain … much.

The Sephiroth Tins – Now, this is another case. We’ve been waiting since December, and I now don’t think that they will be arriving at all. I hope I’m wrong and they eventually make their way over here. Hold on, let me make sure before I go on, just incase there’s some news that came out today.

Nope, nothing. I have heard that the Sephiroth Tin orders won’t get fullfilled to the stores.

I hope I’m wrong. I want those Tins.

Now, onto the Site. Our logo is almost finished, just getting some details done. And then our stickers will come in at some point. We started listing Opus III. Opus IV to Opus XII is all done. Started some Opus XIII, but stopped and will have to do Opus XIII from the beginning.

Once all the Opuses (is that it?) are listed we’ll be starting our Card of the Week, where we’ll be highlighting a random card and talking about it.

The Ruler of the Black Knights

The Saviors went on to open the door behind the Ogre and found an empty storage room. All that was in there was a piece of wood that said “Property of the Black Knights” and on the other side was just numbers going up the side. The saviors decided that they would need it to find the “Ruler of the Black Knights”.

They exited out of the room and kept on their path hoping that they would find the Ruler, and stumbled upon some patrolling goblins. They tried once again to talk to them to find out where the ruler is. They even showed them the stick they had found hoping it would lead the way to the Ruler. The goblins saw that the Saviors had the stick and attacked, but the Saviors quickly dispatched of them.

They advanced down the path, and found themselves in front of a door. They tried listening through the door and heard some snoring. They decided it would be best to send in Trippie Pink as she could stealthily (is that even a word?) see what was inside the room. As she stepped inside, all she saw was a bunch of beds and a couple of tables. Pink tried making her way towards the snoring, but tripped over a bed. And, the snoring stopped.

“Stupid goblins, they never shut up.” she heard and the snoring started once again.

She made her way to the bed and saw a man sleeping there. She went back and told the rest of the Saviors what she saw. They all figured that it must be the Ruler of the Black Knights and decided to grab him and head out before the goblins came back.

They made their way out of the cave and once outside they started talking to the man. Asking him if he was the Ruler. He said he was just a merchant traveling back to Cornelia. The Saviors thought he was trying to hide the fact that he was in fact the Ruler and asked him again if he was the Ruler of the Black Knights. He asked them what does it matter what color the ruler is.

The Saviors looked at each other and realized that they had the ruler all along. They left the old man, and headed back to Cornelia. They walked into Miss Olga’s office and The Black Knight that was sitting there, jumped up and said “You found our Ruler, now we can start measuring again.” He grabbed the ruler and left the room.

Miss Olga told the Saviors that they had done good, and that she was waiting on a messenger to bring her back the report of their new missions.

The Saviors went to the Tavern and Melvin told them that he had lost an Amethyst Pendant in the Tulip Forest. He would go look for it, but he had no one to take care of the tavern while he was gone. The Saviors agreed and went on to find the Amethyst Pendant in the Tulip Forest.

25 Years and All I Got Was A Pikachu

It’s Pokemon Season at McDonald’s. And what does that mean? It means everyone and their mom is buyng Happy Meals. Including me. I got to feed my kids. And they like McDonald’s. Is it wrong that I keep the cards? I would say nope. They still get the stickers that usually come with the cards and they’re as happy as can be. 2 and 3 years old is perfect for this. They get excited with a couple of paper airplanes and boats.

I have noticed that some people are complaining about their McDonald’s running out of cards for the Happy Meals, but I haven’t encountered that yet. Every night I go I get my 5 Happy Meals. Chocalate Milk and Apple Juice, and I don’t have to run to the grocery store. It’s a win-win situation.

But, now we see the prices race to the bottom as everyone is undercutting the next seller. Pikachu Holo, started around $75 I think, and now its sitting at around $40. It’s still a good amount considering you found it in a Happy Meal. Bulbasaur and Charmander fetching $10 and $15. I think Bulbasaur actually went up a little as I saw the prices at $8 for a bit.

Now it’s been 30 packs or so, and finally got the Holo Pikachu. Was it worth the time spent driving to McDonald’s ordering 5 Happy Meals every night, for this one card. Yes, Yes it was. And I shall still be looking till they run out of Pokemon cards.

Even thought they might drop down to $20 bucks in the near future. Nothing beats the feeling of getting the one card that you’re looking for out of a pack.

Dungeons & Dragons FF Campaign 05

The Saviors, ended up escorting Princess Sara back to Cornelia. The King was overjoyed, and told them that he will rebuild the bridge, so they can carry on their travels. And, that he has heard that there is some trouble in Elfland. (Who would have thought?)

Princess Sara, gave the Saviors, each an orb. She told them that a Sage gave them to her and she would know who to give them to. The players took the orbs, and went to find Miss Olga to get their reward for saving the princess.

Once inside Miss Olga’s office, the Black Knights came and said that they needed help. The Ruler of the Black Knights was missing. They believe the Ruler was taken by the goblins. The Saviors were to head to the Goblin Cave and get the Ruler back.

On their way to the cave they found a couple of goblins running into the forest, and they decided it was best to follow them. The goblins lead them straight to the cave’s entrance where there were two more goblins standing watch. The Saviors tried communicating with them, but the goblins had no idea on what they were saying.

They entered into battle, as one of the goblins ran inside. The goblins were defeated quickly and the Saviors made their way through the cave. They decided to split up at one point. Akrasia and Mr. Tinkles found themselves in front of a giant spider, and Squirt and Astra were busy trying to get the goblins to lead them to the Ruler.

The Spider was no match for Mr. Tinkles and Akrasia, because they ran away. And the goblins had no clue as to what Squirt was trying to tell them. They decided to try and show them the orbs to see if that would help. The goblins pointed at the orbs and made a gesture that the Saviors should follow them.

They led them to some more goblins and the goblins attacked them. The goblins were defeated, easily, because they have very low HP. The Saviors then found a treasure chest which contained Goblin Armor.

After searching through most of the cave they came upon an Ogre guarding a door. This must be where the Ruler is being held. So, they just attacked the Ogre. Lots of attacks, Fire spells, healing, potions being thrown left and right. And Squirt steady pummeling on the Ogre. The Ogre fell, and the Saviors decided to call it a night. But, not before Squirt took the Ogre’s club.
