Icelike Oceans

28-020C – Blue Mage

This is a card that we haven’t had something similar in a long time.

Blue Mage gives you a chance to take a peak at your opponent’s hand. Not only that, but you get to choose a card from their hand and send it to the Break Zone.

For 2CP this is a great card to play in any Ice deck.

The only drawback would be that you need 5 Backups to be able to use Blue Mage’s ability. And, since you’re also sending Blue Mage to the Break Zone for this ability, you will now have more room for another Backup.

28-021R – Eald’narche

Discard, Dull and Freeze.

Eald’narche does it all. All at the same time.

Whenever your opponent discards a card, you get to Dull/Freeze one of your opponent’s Characters.

Also if by any chance KAm’lanaut enters the field, Eald’narche can pay a Crystal, and your opponent will discard a couple of cards, meaning that Eald’narche will Dull/Freeze a Character.

Just Rinse and Repeat.

28-022L – Kadaj

How many Remnants can you remove from the game?

Kadaj comes in and you will take one Remnant in your Break Zone and remove it from the game. Now all you got to do is find a way to remove another Remnant from the game.

Why?

Because, if you have 2 Remnants removed from the game, at the end of every turn of yours, your opponent will discard 2 cards.

Talk about Turbo Discard. Kadaj will give you a head start.

And, for the price of a Crystal, you can send a dull Forward to their owner’s hand. Luckily you’ll get 2 Crystals when Kadaj enters the field.

28-023C – Kam’lanaut

Here we go, do you see the Combo and how it works. We’ll explain later.

First off let’s see what Kam’lanaut does.

When he enters the field, Kam’lanaut will Dull/Freeze one of your opponent’s Forwards. You’ll gain a Crystal as well.

Glacier Blade, will break a dull Forward, and you’ll gain another Crystal with it.

So, what’s the Combo?

Eald’narche is already on the field. You play Kam’lanaut and you’ll Dull/Freeze a Forward. and gain a Crystal. You’ll then use that Crystal to have your opponent Discard 2 cards. Once those 2 cards are discarded Eald’narche will Dull/Freeze a Character.

You see, Discard 2 + Dull/Freeze 2 = A great play.

28-024R – Gil Snapper

More Moogle Bounty Mayhem.

These cards look like they’ll cause some Mayhem to your opponent.

As long as Gil Snapper is on the field, all damage dealt to your Forwards 2CP or less, will have their damage reduced by 2000. That could be more than enough to keep them on the field.

Gil Snapper also becomes a Forward with 6000 power, and his first ability does reduce the damage that Gil Snapper takes as well.

You can probably throw Gil Snapper into any deck. Even if he’s not in an Ice deck, I’m sure you’ll find ways to bring him out.

28-025C – Kuja

Kuja is ready to sabotage your opponent. At least for this turn.

Kuja comes right on in and Dull/Freezes 3 of your opponent’s Forwards.

6CP.

And, you will play this card with a smile on your face.

And, you will smile when your opponent can not do anything to block your attacks.

28-026C – Clavat

I know I just saw this card.

This comfirms our generic common, that is the same through out all the elements in this set.

We’ll keep it short, or I can just Copy/Paste

“Here we go, a Crystal Generator.

One when Clavat comes in, and one when you use the ability to send her to the Break Zone.

Simple.

Easy to understand.

Not much else going on here.”

28-027C – The Emperor

The Emperor comes in and a dull Forward goes out.

Not only do you send a Dull Forward back to your opponent’s hand, but they will also discard a card from their hand as well.
And that’s about it.

5CP, 8000 power. And after he enters the field, The Emperor becomes a Meat Shield.

And, there’s nothing wrong with that.

28-028H – Shiva

A Hero Summon for 2 CP, can’t go wrong with that, even if you do pay the extra cost of a Crystal.

Shiva allows you to choose 2 of her two abilities. Yes, you pay the Crystal if you choose both.

1) Break a damaged Forward.

2) Dull one of your opponent’s Forwards, and your opponent discards a card.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

28-029C – Shantotto

You can’t lose with Shantotto.

For 3CP, Shantotto enters the field and you reveal the top card of your deck.

If it’s and Ice card, your opponent discards a card.

If, it’s any other element, you’ll draw a card.

And, the icing on the cake. You get to see what the top card of your deck is.

28-030H – Shuyin

This is interesting.

Shuyin acts more like a Summon than a Forward.

Shuyin comes in and you can either choose a Forward your opponent controls and remove it from the game. Or, you can have your opponent choose 2 cards from their hand and remove them from the game.

You’ll also have to remove Shuyin from the game as well.

So, the question is why did they make Shuyin a Forward?

Unless, there is a card that can bring Shuyin back after he has been removed from the game.

This is a card that I’ll keep my eye on, just because I’m curious to see what people will do with it.

28-031L – Snow

For 5CP you get a Forward that keeps on giving.

Snow has 3 abilities, and you get to choose 2 of them when he enters the field, and whenever Snow attacks.

1) Dull/Freeze 1 Character
2) Reveal the top 2 cards of your deck, add a Final Fantasy XIII card to your hand.
3) The next Final Fantasy XIII card you play is reduced by 2CP.

Plenty of choices here, but I see most people using 1 and 3.

28-032H – Cecil

Paladin Cecil now makes more sense.

Cecil comes in and you can pay the extra cost of removing 3 Forward in your Break Zone from the game. You can then choose one Character, Dull/Freeze. And then, your opponent will discard a card.

And, when your opponent finally breaks Cecil and sends him to the Break Zone, it’s like Cecil finally beat himself at Mt. Ordeals, and comes back as a Paladin.

And, when Paladin Cecil comes in, since Dark Knight Cecil is already in your Break Zone, you’ll draw a card.

28-033C – Sephiroth

At 3CP this Backup is great. Sephiroth is doing Ice things.

When Sephiroth comes in your opponent discards a card.

And, if you ever needed to break a Multi-Element Forward, Sephiroth is here to help you do it.
That’s about it.

Simple, but effective.

28-034C – Paladin

There are plenty of ways to have your opponent discard a card this set.

Paladin here is one of them.

Whenever Paladin deals damage to your opponent, your opponent will discard one card.

And, if you pay a Crystal you can also give Paladin +2000 power and Brave, giving him a 9K body.

You can do a lot worse for 3CP.

28-035R – Harley

What else would Harley do?

She searches for a Bard.

*Cough Edward Cough*

And that is about it. Although it doesn’t necessarily say that you have to search for Edward, but we all already know that Edward is a Bard, and Harley is his secretary.

Maybe Bards will become a thing.

28-036R – Yazoo

Removing Remnants, to gain Crystals.

That seems like what the Remnants would do.

Yazoo removes, one Remnant, and gains 2 Crystals. Just like Loz.

Then you can use those Crystals to Dull/Freeze a Character once per turn.

I might finally give the Remnants a spin this set. I’ve been meaning to do it for a long time now. Ever since Opus XI.

28-037H – Yoshikiri

Yoshikiri is looking to spend all those Crystals that you’ve been farming.

When he enters the field, pay a Crystal, and your opponent will discard a card.

Yoshikiri is blocked, and you can then pay a Crystal and your opponent discards a card.

And, if that’s not enough, you can use Yoshikiri’s ability, that will force a Forward to block. So, not only will your opponent discard a card, they will lose a Forward in the process as well.

This will be a fun card. For you. Not your opponent.

28-038R – Loz

I don’t know where to start. So, we’ll just start from the card. Which is what we’re doing anyway.

Loz comes in and you can remove a Remnant from the Break Zone and you’ll gain a couple of Crystals for it.

Now, what does Loz do with these Crystals?

You can use them to give an Ice Forward +2000 power. This can be useful as a counter measure. Give an Attacker that is being blocked +2000 power to Break the Blocker, or the other way around, +2000 power to your blocker to break the attacker.

Are we finally going to be able to get a good Remnant deck going?

Cool Singles!

Blissful Eternity

The Final Fantasy Trading Card Game community is buzzing today with the official reveal of Opus XXVIII: Blissful Eternity. With a heavy focus on one of the franchise’s most beloved entries and some high-end collector’s items, this set is shaping up to be a monumental release for 2026.

Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming set.

Mark Your Calendars: Release Dates

The summer is looking hot for FFTCG players. Set your reminders for these key dates:

  • Midnight Prerelease: July 24, 2026

  • Official Launch: July 31, 2026

Note: Stay tuned for more details on our Midnight Prerelease event coming soon!

The Year of Final Fantasy X

It’s no coincidence that Tidus is gracing the box art for Blissful Eternity, following Yuna’s appearance on the Dreamlike Oceans (Opus XXVII) box art coming this March.

As we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Final Fantasy X, the game is clearly taking center stage. Fans are already speculating that this could mean the return of the “YRP” (Yuna, Rikku, Paine) meta. Will we see new versions of the iconic trio to shake up the competitive scene?

The Return of “Noir” and Gold Signatures

Collectors, get your top-loaders ready. The Noir style—first introduced in the FFTCG Special PR Collection Noir—is making a comeback. These striking black-and-white reprints featuring Tetsuya Nomura’s signature are highly coveted, and this set brings a heavy hitter:

  1. Noir Reprint: Cloud (11-127L)

  2. The Gold Treatment: A brand new Sephiroth (29-087L) will receive the Full Art Gold Signature treatment.

With two Gold Signatures in one set, the hunt is on. I’m personally curious to see if the pull rates for these will be identical; I have a sneaking suspicion that one might end up being the ‘ultimate’ chase card of the set, but we’ll have to wait for the official drop to find out.

Set Breakdown & Legacy Cards

Opus XXVIII is packed with value, boasting a massive 36 Full Art cards. We also have confirmation on the Legacy Card slots, which feature some powerhouse reprints:

  • Gilgamesh (14-023L)

  • Warrior of Light (21-121L)

  • Mont Leonis (22-113L)

First Look: New Artwork

While we don’t have the full text for these cards yet, the artwork for seven key characters has been teased. The lineup includes:

  • Seymour, Eiko, Yuna, Kelger, Roche, Faris, and Zidane.

What are you most excited for in Blissful Eternity? Are you chasing that Noir Cloud, or are you hoping for a meta-defining YRP comeback? Let us know in the comments!

The Dirty Dozen

After seeing “The Twelve” in Gunslinger in the Abyss, you know we had to see what we can make out of this. The plan was simple. Throw all of The Twelve cards into a deck, and add in another 14 cards and see what we can get.

The Twelve work great together. As they will search for each other, grab another member out of the Break Zone, have abilities that go off when you have a certain number of The Twelve on the field, and it goes on and on.

But, since The Twelve are in every element, how will we get them on the field?

This in my opinion is the hardest part. As if you don’t get the hand you want when you start off, you’ll be in a bit of trouble. Luckily, we’ve added cards that can kick start your game plan.

First things first. You will need either Llymlaen, or Menphina in your starting hand. If not I suggest you Mulligan, because you will need Llymlaen to make everything easier. As Llymlaen allows you to pay for The Twelve with any color of CP. Then why am I talking about Menphina? Well, she can search for Llymlaen and play her straight to the field. This way you’ll have a better chance at starting off the match right.

The rest of The Twelve play nicely together as mentioned before, and there are a few cards that are worth mentioning. Nophica, will allow you to grab a card from the Break Zone when she enters the field, and when she is put into the Break Zone. That’s 2 cards, making Nophica a Free Play. Rhalgr who will Break one of your opponent’s Forwards when he enters the field. And if you already have another 8 of the Twelve members on the field, Rhalgr is also a Free Play. Nald’thal, is a great Backup as well. Nald’thal will play one of The Twelve, from the Break Zone, straight to the field.

As you can see, there are plenty of ways to recycle. And, recycling is good for the planet, and your deck. Captain Planet would be proud.

We kept the deck Main deck filled with Final Fantasy XIV Characters, the main ones we added are Emet-Selch, and Hythlodaeus. We all know what these 2 do together. And, since you’re playing with a deck that has every element in it, it will be good to be able to bring in some cards at once, without worrying about paying for them.

And, let’s not forget Hien. The Legend from Rebellion’s Call. And, you should know why. Cause whenever Hien attacks, you will activate all of the FFXIV Forwards, and guess what The Twelve are. I’ll just leave it at that, you can use your imagination here. Did we mention that Hien let’s your FFXIV Forwards attack twice in the same turn?

The rest of the deck consists of Ra-La, Vrtra and Azdaja. Just one copy of each as they can fit in any deck.

Just one Summon, and that is Amaterasu. Cause it’s Amaterasu.

The Limit Break Deck, is a mix with Leo taking the top spot at 3 copies, because you just might need to draw a card in the begining of the game if you don’t get a good starting hand. The rest are just cards that you can use in certain situations.

Sweet Korner

06/02

It’s my kids Kindergarten Graduation today. Dropped them off to school, and then it was off to wash the Jeep and decorate it. Bought some balloons and Car Paint for the windows, and it was ready. Got there with time to spare.

Sat inside watched the ceremony, and I got to tell you it makes you feel proud when your child accomplishes something. Sure it’s just Kindergarten, but at the same time, they spent their whole year going to school. And, Kindergarten isn’t what it used to be. They have actual homework, and IXLs and all of the same things that the older kids are doing.

After the ceremony, it was time for the parade. I had my son stand up out of the Sunroof, waving to the whole school as we slowly went around the parking lot twice.

Next it was time to treat him to McDonald’s cause that’s what kids like. We had time to spare so we went to the thrift store. Found nothing at the first one. Second one, we found some PS4 games at 3 dollars each. Picked up 2 Uncharted games, one was sealed, and Red Dead Redemption 2. They also had Assassins Creed III for the PS3, so I picked that one up as well.

Went to the register and all Media was 50% off. That made it an even sweeter deal.

Finally tested out the Dreamcast, and it works. Played a little bit of Capcom Vs. SNK 2. And, I think that disc isn’t an original disc. It just looks way off and the art on the cover isn’t any where near the art on the original game.

Oh, well.

06/03

They’re calling for rain tomorrow. It figures. All week no rain come Wednesday, Rain.

Went to a Thrift store in the morning, just to pass some time, before I head to the restaurant. I had 30 minutes found a Marshawn Lynch Jersey, and a Nightmare Before Christmas plush.

Orders were delivered today Final Fantasy VII Art Museum came in along with the Wii Sensor bar. I’ll finally test the two Wiis I got a couple weeks back, along with the games. Expect to see the games start popping up on eBay soon.

06/04

The kids are out of school, and it’s raining. Lucky me. I get to stay in bed for an extra 30 minutes. No Flea Market. I am disappointed, cause I like going to the one that’s today. Not that many Vendors, but there’s not that many shoppers either.

Rolled out of bed and my daughter had knocked over a cup of coffee on my desk. Yeah, I should have picked it up yesterday, but what can you do. At least I didn’t have any cards on it like last time.

Listed the Final Fantasy VII Carddass Masters up on eBay. I enjoy going through these cards, they bring out the nostalgia of playing Final Fantasy VII when it first came out.

At night we played with the Wii. We Donkey Kong Country, Sonic and Mario Kart. I was playing with my son, and we were having a great time. Laughing and poking fun at each other. But, I am not a fan of the Wii. I do not like the controls, and how they make you use the shaking of the Wiimote. I just want a controller that sits in my hand and I press the buttons. No need for gimmicks.

06/05

Had to get out there today and search for those garage sales. Only thing is that there wasn’t any worth going to.

What happened to people having Garage Sales on Thursdays? Last year I would go out and find a whole bunch of them.

Got another order of Carddass Masters. This time though a Holo Sephiroth was in them.

Did some work, on the other eBay account. Need to start getting some traction on that one as well. It’s mostly for items that are not Trading Card or Video Game related.

06/06

We did find some things today, and we’re excited. Just not too excited. Best thing we found was a copy of Stephen King’s Christine. The Book Club Version.

Listed some PS4 games on eBay, and the Final Fantasy VII Carddass Masters on eBay.

And, that’s about it for today. We stayed busy at the restaurant so didn’t get much done here. At least it’s Saturday tomorrow. That means driving from Flea Market to Flea Market. It’s calling for rain, but it shouldn’t start until after 3, so we should be good.

06/07

Woke up 30 minutes late this morning. Almost didn’t head to the Swap because I thought that all the good stuff would be gone. Then I thought, what am I laying in bed for everyone else is not looking for what I’m looking. Sure, there might be some people that do, but if I don’t go there’s a 100% chance of not finding anything.

Grabbed my son and off we went. We ended up finding a Sega Genesis, Found 2 controllers as well for it. And, Super Mario Galaxy. Everything else was priced at what I would sell them for.

Off to Robbins.

Tales of the Unknown Volume 1 The Bard’s Tale

Anyone know what that is? It’s a game for your ancient computers. And, it’s actually worth something. Especially since it has the manuals and everything that comes with it.

06/08

Sunday was a quiet day as usual. Just spent the morning putting all the orders together.

Had to run to the restaurant today, and I had forgotten about some cards that we’re delivered yesterday. So, I spent a little bit of time listing them on TCG Player and eBay.

I was looking at the inputs to the Sega Genesis, and they are not what I expected to see. That AV input. I’m wondering now if I take the cables from the Master System if they’ll work on the Genesis? Got to find a game for it first, no use figuring it out before I have a game to play.

Tears of the Limit Break

Shop for these cards and more at our TCG Player Store!

25-106R – Machina LB

How much you like this card depends on when you can play it.

Machina is a 2 cost Forward, who’s power will range from 4K – 10K, as every point of damage that you have received gives Machina +1000 power.

This is not bad at all. The only problem I see is that you can’t play Machina if you already have a Forward on the field.

And, that might be the reason Machina is a Limit Break.

.
25-107H – Red XIII LB

This is what a Limit Break should be.

Red XIII comes in and he gives all of your Forwards +2000 power until the end of the turn. With all the Final Fantasy VII Characters in this set, I see Red XIII being a great Limit Break to play.

And, since we’re talking about Final Fantasy VII, if you have another 2 FFVII Characters on the field, Red XIII will also gain Haste, First Strike, and Brave.

This will be a great play after a couple of turns. You’ll have a Forward that will be tough to beat.

I do like this one.

25-108R – Kam’lanaut LB

I’m not sure if Kam’lanaut looks more like a Transformer or a Super Hero.

Either way Kam’lanaut will do the same thing once he enters the field. He will break a Forward.

Why am I so sure, that Kam’lanaut will break one of your opponent’s Forwards? Because you wouldn’t be playing it if you didn’t control a Dark Forward.

After that you’ll have a Meat Shield on the field.

Hey, that rhymes.

25-109H – Shuyin LB

Shuyin! What’cha doin?

Looking for Vegnagun, that’s what Shuying is doing!

Shuyin will come in and search for a Dark Forward. If you don’t want Vegnagun, you can always look for Emissaries of Light Chaos, and go that route.

And, hey if you get Vegnagun in your starting hand, you won’t need Shuyin, but it’s always good to have him.

Yeah, I can’t think of anything else.

25-110R – Aerith LB

Here’s a way to make sure you can start your FFVII deck off right.

If your hand isn’t good, and you need to just find Zack or Cloud, Aerith knows where to find them.

You can then play them on to the field, and go along with your plan.

Aerith can also cancel an auto-ability targeting a FFVII Character.

It’s almost as if she’s sacrificing herself to protect the rest.

I’d call Aerith the perfect Meat Shield, but that feels wrong.

25-111H – The Emperor LB

Do you want to draw more card?

The Emperor her will help you out with that.

Every time your opponent searches for a card, or brings a card back from the Break Zone, you get to draw a card. And, there’s no limit on how many cards you can grab.

Since we already know that every deck has a card that searches for cards, and most decks have a way of bringing cards back from the Break Zone, you will draw enough cards to make The Emperor a free play in the long run.

You also get a body on the field with 5000 power.

You’ll want to keep The Emperor on board for as long as you can.

25-112H – Sarah (MOBIUS) LB

We were just talking about MOBIUS, somewhere during this set, and it is getting some love here.

Sarah will come in and if you find a MOBIUS card in the top 4 cards of your deck, you can add it to your hand, if not then all the cards go to the Break Zone.

It can work in your favor, it can also work against you.

But, the real reason you’ll be playing Sarah, is her second ability, in which she reduces the cost of playing your MOBIUS Forwards by 2CP.

And, you get a body, but you’ll probably just be dulling Sarah to help pay for your Forwards.

125-113R – Yang LB

Bring on the Monks!

This is just a way to get an extra Monk on the field.

What am I saying? I gotta read a little better here.

This is a way to get a Forward on the field, any Forward, any Element, any Category, any Job.

As long as you have enough Monks on the field you can even play Mont Leonis (14-075H) and Chaos (16-129L)

Just find a way to break Yang, and play him again, and then play him once again. Since Yangs LB cost is only 1 point, you can play all 3 Yangs if you have them in your Limit Break deck.

25-114R Kain LB

Kain might cost 9CP, but you can bring that cost all the way down to 2CP.

How?

Its simple really.

If you have 3 Dragoons on the field, Kain’s cost comes down to 4CP. And, once Kain enters the field you’ll grab a Forward from your Break Zone. Bringing it down to 2CP, just like we mentioned.

You can grab the Forward you just used to pay for Kain’s cost, or you can grab another one.

Most likely, you’ll be grabbing another one. Probably that Dragoon that was just broken last turn.

Did we mention Kain has First Strike?

If you’re playing Dragoons, you should throw at least one in your Limit Break Deck.

25-115H – Sephiroth LB

This is a fun card to play. I managed to pull it on Prerelease along with a couple of FFVII Legends, but that’s a story for another day.

The high cost of Sephiroth is worth it.

Whenever Sephiroth attacks or when he enters the field, Sephiroth will dull all the Forwards except for himself.

And, at the end of your turn you will break a dull Forward. At the end of your opponent’s turn, you will break another dull Forward. And so on, and so forth.

You will slowly break down your opponent’s front line, but be careful. Once your opponent loses all their Forwards, you’re going to start breaking your own Forwards.

But, then again, if your opponent doesn’t have any Forwards on the field, you’re probably winning the game.

25-116H – Graff LB

The Grand General. Graff looks like he could be a captain, and when I saw it the first thing I thought about is Vikings.

Why Vikings?

Well, when Graff enters the field, choose a Forward you control remove it from the game. If you remove a Viking, you will draw a card.

Which should be a good enough reason to play Graff in your Pirate deck.

And also, whenever Graff attacks, you’ll choose one of your opponent’s Forwards and they lose 4000 power until the end of the turn.

Let’s not forget about Graff’s 9000 power either.

25-117R – Leonora LB

One more card that can search for another card.

A Forward to be exact, A Final Fantasy IV Forward.

Which Forward? Well, that’s up to you.

Leonora can also help protect your Final Fantasy IV Forwards, with her second ability which turns the next damage dealt to them to 0.

Final Fantasy IV now has 2 cards that will search for a FFIV Forward.

We might be on to something here.

25-118H – Golbez LB

We’ve seen all the Archfiends, now let’s take a look at their leader, Golbez.

5CP plus 2LB to play a 9K Golbez.

So far this is meh. Just your regular High Powered Forward.

Now let’s take a look at the ability. Once per turn, you can search for an Archfiend and play it onto the field. Just like that.

Imagine, looking for Cagnazzo, right when you need to get rid of a Forward that you don’t want on the field. Or playing Scarmiglione when one of your Forwards gets attacked and needs to be saved.

And, that was just a couple of Archfiends from this set. Imagine what you can do if you go through all of the Archfiends.

That Golbez VS Cecil deck is looking pretty good right now.

d
