29-077C – Aranea

Dragoons just got a heavy hitter in the form of a Common. What is it with great Common cards in this set?

Aranea comes in for 4CP and a 7K body.

Once she enters the field she will break a Forward whose cost is less then the number of Lighting Characters that you control on the field. And, since you’re playing Dragoons, you’ll probably have enough to Break any of their Forwards.

Odin with a body.

29-078R – Omega Weapon

This is what a Weapon should look like.

As soon as Omega Weapon enters the field you get to choose between Breaking a Forward, or dealing 5000 damage to all the Forwards.

This is cheaper than Odin. And, Omega Weapon gets to stick around with a 10K body. You don’t see too much of that.

I am liking this.

A little too much.

*Thinking to myself (I can get MBM to 5 Backups really fast.)

Yes!

You have to have at least one Omega Weapon in your deck if you’re running Lightning.

End of story.

29-079C – Kain

Another Dragoon, the almighty Kain.

Don’t believe me? Just ask Cecil.

Kain “jumps” right in and breaks one of your opponent’s Forwards (3CP or less). That’s enough to play this one, but Kain comes in with 9000 power.

You’re getting some bang for your CP.

Oh, and Kain comes in with Haste when you have 5 points of damage.

29-080C – Chaos

Ok, this is different. And, it’s diabolical.

You play Chaos on to the field, and your opponent chooses what Chaos will do to them.

Do they want to send 2 Forwards into the Break Zone?

Or.

Do they want to discard 3 cards from their hand?

You just drop Chaos, and your opponent will take care of the rest.

29-081C – Coeurl

Another 1 cost Monster, that will draw you a card on it’s way out.

But, just what does Coeurl do?

It will deal 5000 damage to a 2 cost Forward.

I mean, it could break it, it might not, but most Forwards at 1CP or 2CP don’t have much power.

Might as well.

29-082R – Kelger

Can you say Free Play?

That’s what you get with Kelger, if you have Bartz or a Dawn Warrior already on the field.

But, that’s not all.

Kelger gives you a Crystal when he enters the field, and since he came in for Free because you already have a Dawn Warrior on the field, Kelger will give you another Crystal as well.

Meaning you get to play Kelger for Free and you gain 2 Crystals.

What’s not to like?

29-083C – Koru-Moru

Here is a perfect use for Yoran-Oran’s ability.

Koru-Moru, can break a Forward with a cost of up to 4CP. And, Koru-Moru does have 2 abilities for this, and yes one does cost less than the other.

Either way Koru-Moru is a great card to have on the field, with a couple of cards in your hand just incase you have to get rid of a 4 cost Forward.

And, Koru-Moru’s cost is only 2CP, so this is pretty much a no brainer.

29-084R – Jessie

Who doesn’t like a card that searches for another card?

Jessie is here, and that is exactly what she does. Searches for a Final Fantasy VII Forward.

And, that is it.

3CP for a Backup.

Yeah, that’s it.

29-085R – Cidolfus

The Lightning Dominant that primes into, you guessed it, Ramuh.

For 2CP and another 2CP you can get Cidolfus primed into Ramuh, and when anyone primes into anything, you get to grab a Lightning Summon from your Break Zone.

Ok, I guess.

I’m not really feeling Cidolfus here, nor his Prime buddy Ramuh.

And, since I said that, someone is going to pull out all the stops build a deck around these 2 and win the World Championship.

Lol.

29-086H – Shadow

This is an early play.

Turn 1 to be exact.

Warp Shadow in, play a couple of Backups and you’ll skip your next turn. Or not, you can just wait another 2 turns instead, and you can still play hand.

You’ll get a 9K body, plus a Lightning card of 2CP or less when Shadow does come in.

I’d say this is worth a look at.

1CP for 2 characters is a yes in my book.

I’d wait 4 turns and still be happy to use it.

29-087L – Sephiroth

Que One Winged Angel.

If you have removed a Sephiroth from the game, Sephiroth will cast 3CP less, making him a 2CP/9K body. But even at 5CP, Sephiroth is still a steal of a play.

Plus you can remove a card to draw 2 cards.

Think about it. Haste, First Strike a big body.

What else can you ask for?

I’ll tell you.

Telluric Fury! Break a Forward. Yes, it’s an S ability. Mono-Sephiroth coming in strong. As long as you get Sephiroth on the field, and you have another 46 Sephiroths in your deck (the other 3 slots belong to Aldo), You’ll be breaking Forwards left and right, and your opponent will be trying to figure out a way to keep Forwards on the board.

29-088C – Soldier (FFTS)

I can’t find the right words, but this card is great.

Soldier comes in and is just a regular Forward until he is sent to the Break Zone. And that’s when he becomes capital G for Great.

When Soldier is sent to the Break ZOne, he will choose one Forward and deal it damage equal to his power.

And, if you spent your time giving him +1000 here and there, he’ll be able to take out some of the big boys too.

Damage 3, +1000 power
Opus I Lulu, +1000 power
And, I’m sure there are plenty more ways to buff his power up.

29-089C/15-095C – Ninja

What was I thinking?

What did Pelna do during Crystal Dominion?

“Another simple Backup that should cost you about 1CP.

Later on when you need to, Dull and put Pelna in the Break Zone and give all the FFXV Forwards you control +2K”

One thing is for sure. You’ll gain a Crystal with Ninja.

29-090R – Noctis

Will you take a look at this?

Noctis comes in for 3CP, but you can only play him if you already have a Final Fantasy XV Forward on the field.

A 9k body, and every time Noctis attacks, he grabs a retainer from the Break Zone. Every time. Period.

That means you’ll never be short on CP, as you’ll be getting a card back every turn. You can even be grabbing the same card over and over again. Use it to pay for a card, then grab it back so you can use it once more.

Or, you can just grab the card that you need.

29-091H – Barnabas (XVI)

Barnabas has one job. Prime into Odin.

Other than that, there are better cards to play for an 8K body. And, most of them cost 4CP.

But, if you will Prime into Odin, then there is no second guessing it. Especially since you can pay 2CP for Barnabas, if you remove the 3 Final Fantasy XVI cards from your Break Zone, and another 2CP to Prime into Odin.

That’s 1CP less than just playing Odin by himself.

29-092C – Prompto

Keeping up with Noctis, Prompto does just about the same thing. But, Prompto needs to use an S ability in order to do so.

Unlike Noctis though, Prompto will let you draw a card when he enters the field.

And, for 2CP?

That’s a free play right there. You’d be out of your mind not to play this card. Even if you just play Prompto to draw a card, and break him the next turn. It’s worth it.

29-093L – Meia EX

Meia will come in and search for a MOBIUS Character, and if the Character you search for is Wol, you will also gain a Crystal, and any MOBIUS Character that enters the field will also have Haste.

For 3CP, I would say that this is a great card to play. Meia also has a 7K body. We just need a Full Art now.

You didn’t hear this here, but I would say it might be time to dust off that Opus V Wol that’s been gathering dust.

29-094H – Ramuh

Deal a Forward 5000 damage.

Ok.

Or, deal a Forward 7000 damage and draw a card.

Only difference is that you’ll use a Ramuh to pay for Ramuh.

And, that turns this into a Free Summon.

And, we all like Free Summons.

29-095H – Ramuh (XVI)

Ok, so we’re seeing Ramuh before we see Cidolfus.

Which means we’re just looking at the second half of the Prime. And that is … uhm .. not what I expected to see.

Why? because you have the extra cost that will let you draw 2 more cards. Hopefully, if they’re both Lightning or FFXVI cards.

I’ll say that Ramuh should only be played if he gets Primed in. If not then I’ll take a pass.

But, he does have Thunderstorm, which deals 5000 damage to 2 of your opponent’s Forwards.

I might change my mind on this card once I see Cidolfus.

Blissful Eternity

The Final Fantasy Trading Card Game community is buzzing today with the official reveal of Opus XXVIII: Blissful Eternity. With a heavy focus on one of the franchise’s most beloved entries and some high-end collector’s items, this set is shaping up to be a monumental release for 2026.

Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming set.

Mark Your Calendars: Release Dates

The summer is looking hot for FFTCG players. Set your reminders for these key dates:

  • Midnight Prerelease: July 24, 2026

  • Official Launch: July 31, 2026

Note: Stay tuned for more details on our Midnight Prerelease event coming soon!

The Year of Final Fantasy X

It’s no coincidence that Tidus is gracing the box art for Blissful Eternity, following Yuna’s appearance on the Dreamlike Oceans (Opus XXVII) box art coming this March.

As we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Final Fantasy X, the game is clearly taking center stage. Fans are already speculating that this could mean the return of the “YRP” (Yuna, Rikku, Paine) meta. Will we see new versions of the iconic trio to shake up the competitive scene?

The Return of “Noir” and Gold Signatures

Collectors, get your top-loaders ready. The Noir style—first introduced in the FFTCG Special PR Collection Noir—is making a comeback. These striking black-and-white reprints featuring Tetsuya Nomura’s signature are highly coveted, and this set brings a heavy hitter:

  1. Noir Reprint: Cloud (11-127L)

  2. The Gold Treatment: A brand new Sephiroth (29-087L) will receive the Full Art Gold Signature treatment.

With two Gold Signatures in one set, the hunt is on. I’m personally curious to see if the pull rates for these will be identical; I have a sneaking suspicion that one might end up being the ‘ultimate’ chase card of the set, but we’ll have to wait for the official drop to find out.

Set Breakdown & Legacy Cards

Opus XXVIII is packed with value, boasting a massive 36 Full Art cards. We also have confirmation on the Legacy Card slots, which feature some powerhouse reprints:

  • Gilgamesh (14-023L)

  • Warrior of Light (21-121L)

  • Mont Leonis (22-113L)

First Look: New Artwork

While we don’t have the full text for these cards yet, the artwork for seven key characters has been teased. The lineup includes:

  • Seymour, Eiko, Yuna, Kelger, Roche, Faris, and Zidane.

What are you most excited for in Blissful Eternity? Are you chasing that Noir Cloud, or are you hoping for a meta-defining YRP comeback? Let us know in the comments!
