Kardboard Fantasy V – Legend of the Korners

09/08

I didn’t.

Feel better that is.

I just tried resting up, but you know how that goes. I ended up running around all day. And, when I finally got home it was time to get ready for tomorrow.

Kids, bedtime routine and dinner.

Oh, and don’t forget the leftover orders from the weekend.

09/09

“When I flush the John! The shower goes on!”

It’s time to try and fix this drain in the shower. I thought it was a simple clog, cause that’s what it usually is. I don’t know what’s in there, but I ended up breaking 2 rodders. That was not fun at all. I gave up on it after a while cause my drill got stuck to one as well.

Amateur Plumber. At your service.

Started Sorting Opus XIV. Add in the new bulk and new cards that we acquired, make it one big batch for our restock, instead of going through different piles at a time, to find the cards we need.

09/10

Restocked Opus XIV – Crystal Abyss on TCG Player and eBay.

The Kids had Soccer practice today, and we got there 30 minutes early. We had the whole field to ourselves for a while, we had some fun before their practice started.

09/11

Listed a bunch of Opus XIII – Crystal Radiance Foils on eBay.

And, I’ve been using Notebook LM. It’s a great piece of AI that you can feed it a bunch of sources, and it will give you a great summary about it.

Also started sorting Opus XV – Crystal Dominion for a restock.

Played another game of 99 Nights in the Forest. We made it to day 33. We’re going to get there, We would have gotten to a lot more days, but I thought that if I had the Bandages and dies I would be able to revive myself. Apparently that’s not how it works.

09/12

I had plenty to do today.

Listed some new Opus XIV – Crystal Abyss Singles on eBay. 90% of them are foils.

Restock for Crystal Dominion on TCG Player and eBay.

That took me quite some time. Trying to juggle Kardboard Korner and the restaurant at the same time is not fun. Usually I wait till it slows down a bit, and then I grab some cards. And, as soon as I grab them, the phone rings.

Same thing happens when I make something to eat.

99 Nights in the Forest has become a nightly thing.

09/13

Gameday once again. We finally got our jerseys! #5 and #12 for my kids. They played good today. And we won our second game! 2-1 That makes us 2-2 in the standings. I don’t know what place we are maybe I should check the website and see if that data is available.

The kids got their Halloween costumes today, and they’ve been parading around the house with them.

I was doing my running around today and there were garage sales everywhere. I had no time to stop today, by where were all of these when I was out there a couple months ago.

09/14

Other than orders, not much got done today.

My daughter wanted goalkeeper gloves. She says she wants to be a goalie. So, I did what any father would do, we went and got some. I told her, that if we get them, we’re going to have to practice everyday.

We also went out for dinner again, and can’t say that we were pleased with our food. McDonald’s would have been better, and I don’t care much for McDonald’s.

The Korner of Dragoon

06/16

Mondays are the hardest. Not really. It’s just hard to get much done on Mondays. Depending on the Monday as well, We’re mostly getting things set up for the week. Finishing this post for the Website, and scheduling the Card of the Day for Instagram and Facebook.

After that, it is time to figure out what we’re going to do this week. We’re going to start sorting the Basketball cards into team lots, and after that, we are going to start restocking FFTCG. Again. Because well as I mentioned, Organizing the office, is bringing out some surprises. Items I forgot we had. And, what do you do with all that stuff? You give the people what they want.

06/17

Sorted all those NBA cards into Teams, and there isn’t enough to make 100 card lots. Guess I’m going to have to find some more cards. Anyone selling? $10 per thousand. Surprisingly, there were barely any Chicago Bulls cards.

Took out the PS2 and Dirge of Cerberus. I had to try out all these PlayStation controllers and Memory Cards I had, and I figured what better way than play a very underrated game. My daughter saw it and she wanted to play, I told her she could, but we had to check to see if all the controllers work first. She played for 15 minutes and then got bored. If it ain’t Roblox, they don’t like it.

06/18

Wednesday, it was raining all night. It’s still wet outside. The way I see it there’s a 50/50 chance for the Swap in Alsip. I decided to go anyway. What’s the worst that could happen? I go and I come back with nothing.

As I rolled into the Swap-O-Rama, it wasn’t busy, but there were some Vendors there. And, it turned out that it was Free Admission today. Probably cause it was dead. That didn’t stop me though. Was it worth it? Yeah I would say so. Found a Memory Card for the PS2, a Macbook Pro, and a bunch of Michael Jordan Basketball cards. You can never go wrong with MJ cards. Also picked up a Soccer ball for the kids.

Spent the night getting back at organizing the office. We now have our photo station almost ready. There’s about 5 more shelves left to organize, and these will be the hardest. Best way I can think of is by getting rid of everything, but that would mean starting over.

06/19

I got up hoping that the rain stopped from last night, and then I thought if it didn’t stop I can sleep for a couple more hours. The rain did stop, and it took me a long time to wake the kids up. They sure didn’t want to get up today. Too bad. We have Garage Sales to go and find. Plus, we have to check if the Flea Market is open today. I doubt it will be because of all the rain, and it’s held in a lot that’s all dirt. That lot was all muddy and filled with puddles.

Found a couple of Garage Sales, but nothing worth buying.

Ended up starting a restock with all the FFTCG cards I found, we’re going to go through all of the Opus again. Starting with Opus I. They are all on TCG Player and eBay. I’m pretty sure that I have more Opus I cards somewhere, but can’t remember where I put them.

06/20

I think I’m going to have a bunch of empty binders soon. They’re all in great condition, I just won’t be using them cause they take up a lot more room than a 1000ct box. I’ll keep some binders ready to go for when I do shows, but other than that they take up too much space and that space is more valuable than the binders at the moment.

Going to start Opus II today. Plenty of Legends to be added.

I started watching the Club World Cup. Mostly for noise, I’ll look at the TV once in a while when I hear something going on.

06/21

It’s hot outside. That doesn’t mean we’re staying inside. We still have work to do. Better to get out there early before things really heat up. It was pretty empty. Only half the vendors were at the Swap in Alsip. Still found something interesting. Ashton Drake Galleries Peanuts Perpetual Calendar Figurines. It’s a mouthful. I was on the fence about them. I passed by them a couple of times and finally looked them up. Saw the one that was there sold for 30 a while ago. I decided to grab it. Then the gentleman told me to get the one with the box. I looked and there were 10 figurines in total. I picked them all up.

Headed to Robbins, and that was dead as well. It’s too hot and everyone does not want to sit in the sun all day. I wouldn’t either.

Headed home early today, cause we had a birthday party to go to. Pick up a gift went home, and head to the party. The kids had fun, and I was sitting under an umbrella, but the wind picked up and launched that umbrella 15 ft into the air, out into the parking lot. Yep, I’m don’t with that, let me head over to a more open area.

Once we got back home I started looking more into these Perpetual Calendar Figurines. (I wouldn’t have picked them up, but I’m a sucker or Snoopy.) Some of these sold for a couple hundred. That’s all I needed to see. Got them all ready pictured up and ready to go on eBay. Not on the main shop, on our second one that’s for items that are not very Kardboard Kornerlike. I think I mentioned that one before. Not much is on it yet, but we’re slowly filling it up. Actually I hope it always stays pretty empty. That means we’re selling everything fast.

06/22

It’s still hot outside.

I finished up Opus II this morning, and got caught up on this weekends orders. After that my son got up, and I asked him jokingly if he wanted to go to the Flea Market, surprisingly he said yes. So, off we go. It was actually pretty busy, but just like yesterday, there weren’t that many vendors there.

Didn’t find much today. Just Megaman 11, and Def Jam Vendetta. Def Jam would have been a great pickup, but it did not want to work when I tested it. So, in the garbage it goes. No point in keeping it.

Opus III is up right now. Plenty of great cards, that were found in the vault. Legends, Heroes and King Tycoon!

Kardboard Fantasy

05/05

Ended up listing all of the Video Games, that we got at the Flea Market on eBay. You might ask why not just on the website? Well, we’ll be listing games that we personally like on the Kardboard Korner. We might be moving to Shopify soon, as that might be better for us in the near future.

Ran a sale on all the singles on the website. 20% off. Some of you got a great deal. Some of you missed out.

You’ll have to keep an eye out for the next sale. Or you can just subscribe to the newsletter and we’ll let you know when it will pop up.

05/06

Did a restock on Resurgence of Power, for TCG Player and eBay.

Since our Cinco de Mayo coupon did pretty good, we decided to add one more day to it. Didn’t do so great today.

We’re sponsors for the Fun Run that our kids go to school at. And we got our T-Shirts in today. These ones look better than last year’s shirts, and plus we have the Kardboard Korner logo on the back. Can’t go wrong with that.

05/07

It’s Wednesday, and that means we’re heading to the Flea Market, in hopes of finding our guy there. He was there today, but he had nothing for me. Just half of a Switch game pad. The blue side if you need to know. I left it there.

The Power Supply came in today, now let’s see if we can get this PlayStation 2 to work. I got a bunch of games that I need to test. Once this one is good, I’m going to start on the 3 Xboxs.

It turns on now, but I must have messed something else up.

05/08

It was the Fun Run today, we went to support our kids. Plenty of Coffee provided, so I was happy. I cheered on the kids and took off.

Found some PlayStation accessories while I was out sailing today.

05/09

City wide Garage Sales.

That’s our cue. Dropped the kids off to school and off we go. And, even though it said city wide there weren’t that many sales out there. All we managed to find was a Sully Talking Plush. Which was pretty cool, but not exactly what we needed. We still picked it up though.

As I was starting to head home, I saw a tiny sign, it’s a garage sale sign all right. Had a little trouble finding it. Once I got there, I walked all the way to the back of the driveway, and I see 2 people going through 2 bins full of Vintage Nintendo. I’m talking about Consoles and Games. You name it, it was in there. I just turned around and left. No point in sticking around there.

Now that sucked big time. I was a little pissed off, not at those two. They had every right to grab them all, I would have done the same. I was just pissed that I didn’t get there first. It’s all good though. They got it, as they should have.

Restock for From Nightmares on TCG Player and eBay.

05/10

First off let’s rewind a couple of days.

My son saw a Minecraft Nightlight that I had for sale for when I would go to shows. And, as every 6 year that would see it. He wanted it. Of course he asked for it and I said no. I told him that he can earn it. All he had to do was come work with me for a day or two. He agreed. I also told him that on Saturday he would have to wake up early so we can head out to the Flea Markets.

Today’s the day. I woke him up, and he got up so fast, he got ready in 5 minutes. I was surprised. He was ready to go. He kept asking what do I have to do?

I said just come along for the ride, maybe you’ll learn something.

It was a fun day with him, just cracking jokes in the car.

First Flea Market, we ended up with a couple of XBox 360s, a Dreamcast, Gameboy Color, PS2 Slim, an Ipod, a battery for an Ibook, and some games for these systems.

We were done with that one, and since it was still early, we decided to go to another one. We found one that was off of I-55 which said was open on Saturday. Turns out it was not. We turned around and headed towards another Flea Market, took us 20 minutes just to get a Parking Spot at the last one. You’d think that it would be a great one. But, we did not find anything there.

That was it for today, time to head home.

05/11

Sunday.

It was time to try and test everything that we picked up yesterday. Most of the Consoles had cables and everything, but some were missing a cable or a controller. So, we couldn’t test those.

Out of all the games that were in the package that we picked up yesterday, the only one really worth anything was Gran Theft Auto 2 Collector’s Edition for the original PlayStation. And, that one sold within the hour of listing it.

I might have to find a way to let you all know of the new items before they hit eBay.

The Chronicles of Kardboard?

Yeah, we’re still working on that name.

04/15

Did a restock on Opus X. For TCG Player and eBay.

04/16

After I dropped the kids off at school, I decided to head straight to the Flea Market. I didn’t expect to find much, Wednesdays are usually not that great over there. And, I’m sure glad I did. Plenty of Video Games, Consoles, and Controllers.

Spent the rest of the day testing everything we picked up. And, started listing everything as well. I’d say we sold about 50% of it in the first 24 hours.

04/17

It’s Thursday, and it’s Spring, that means there should be garage sales out there! That means, I’m going sailing! But, there was only one problem. No Garage Sales in sight.

I drove around the usual route I would take. No Signs. Nothing. Just a barren wasteland, and signs for the local elections that happened about 2 weeks ago.

Had nothing much going on for the rest of the day, decided to take the kids to Bachelor’s Grove. It’s an old haunted cemetery. With the graves dating back to the 1800s. It’s a nice little walk and you get to take a glimpse at the history of the local communities.

04/18

Expired SEC.

Spent the morning with HostGator, trying to resolve the issue. They took care of it, so the site is back up. Well, of course it is. You’re reading this on the website.

After that, we restocked Opus XI on TCG Player and eBay.

04/19

Had my seven year old put together orders with me. I had her find the cards, put them in sleeves and toploaders, sign her name on the thank you note, and put the card in the envelope. Took us about five to ten minutes fro each card. But, she’s getting better at it.

04/20

It was Pascha (Greek Easter), we took the day off to cook food and spend time with our family.
