Still Catching

Well, I started playing Pokemon again as well.

It’s a fun game, not as good as FFTCG, but it is fun. Plus it has an online mode, where I can play a game after I put the kids to bed. And, since they like Pokemon, we usually get packs every now and then, and I have so many Code Cards lying around. Figured I might as well go and use them. I just got to track them down.

I’m just using the Arcanine deck available at the moment with a couple of changes to it. Added a couple more Charizards. And, I don’t really use them to attack. Just for their abilities. The one Charizard doubles your Fire Energy on your active Pokemon, and the other Charizard, when it evolves you can add up to 3 Fire Energies to your other Pokemon.

It’s a simple deck to pilot, and it’ll keep me entertained until I finally build that Mimikyu deck. I just got to use up those codes and get all the cards I need.

Now, if only FFTCG had an official online way to play.

Getting the Hang of It

The Community Market has come and gone.

It was a small one, but we still had fun. Just like we always do. We ended up buying out another vendor’s booth. Why, you ask? Because he was selling Pokemon cards next to us. So, keep an eye out on the site, and on our eBay store for some nice Pokemon cards that we will be listing.

There is still plenty of demand for Brilliant Stars. Half of the people that came by the booth was asking about Brilliant Stars. And there was none, anywhere. If I had it in stock, which is nearly impossible at the moment. We would have had a Brilliant amount of Dollars.

Other notes from last time.

Pokemon was still the top seller. MetaZoo flopped, Weiss Schwarz showed some life, And Final Fantasy TCG had the most expensive item sold. Flesh and Blood, Magic and Cardfight were all flops as well.

I did manage to add a couple more Mimikyus to my collection. Now I don’t have to open up a box of Brilliant Stars, but I still want to.

The next Convention is right around the corner. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you up to date. In T-minus tomorrow.

T-Minus 2 Weeks

We got a few weeks until Crystal Dominion is here, but Pokemon Fusion Strike is right around the corner. And the real question is “Where is Mimikyu?” Not in this set. We haven’t had a Mimikyu since Battle Styles. And, that my friends, is disappointing. This is where I should go on a rant. But, there’s not much to say about it. Next set. If there is no Mimikyu, I will raise hell. Period.

OK, I probably won’t. We all know that.

But, we will have some boxes available. They will be put up some time this week, as they go on sale this Friday. By some time this week, we mean as soon as we know how many we are getting.

What’s going on with the Midnight PreRelease Event?

We’re on schedule for Black Friday.
November 26th.

9229 S Cicero
Oak Lawn, IL 60453

Whoever wants to come out and try and win a Kit, can come out. Like we stated before $45 for the first kit and entry into the event. $40 for each additional kit after that. We’ll have booster boxes available as well. $100 for the boxes at the Midnight PreRelease.

War of the Visions

-Spoiler Alert-

Well, I finally beat Sterne after not playing for a week, being pissed because I didn’t want to waste my time leveling up Mont. But, I did want to find out what happens after. And I got a surprise. I didn’t expect that. I did not expect a giant crystal to come out from under Leonis castle. Sadali was excited. And, everyone knew that Mont wouldn’t kill Sterne.

But, now we’re in the Interlude, and well we finally got ourselves a ship. Can’t steer it anywhere except down the river. Into the fog. Where we get attacked by the Water guards.

Who would steer the boat straight into the fog in the first place. We all know that the fog is not a good place to be. Cecil and Kain know this very well, when they walked upon the Mist Dragon on their way to Mist, through the Mist Cave while they were walking through the mist. I know both Cecil and Kain no not to enter the Fog.

The townsfolk of Bridgton, Maine also know that you don’t enter the Fog that just rolls up from the lake.

-End Spoiler

Can’t think of anything else.

So, I might as well just get back to work.

Got the Time?

Last week was a busy week for us, and it is still going strong. I was hoping of cracking a box of MetaZoo Nightfall, but didn’t get a chance to. It keeps looking at me when I’m sitting at my desk. “Don’t you want to open me, Big Boy?” “Don’t you want to tear into the shrink wrap, and slowly remove it from on top of me?” And I look at the box, and say … “Maybe, tomorrow night.”

Everything was put on the back burner last week. But, we’ll be back on schedule in no time. Cause we don’t have much going on till Fusion Strike comes out. Only 3 weeks away, and I’m hoping for a new Mimikyu card.

Speaking of Pokemon, I haven’t had a chance to play for a long time. I heard that they changed the Online game. Haven’t checked it out yet. I doubt they changed anything, but I’ll only find out if I re-download it and see for myself. Unless one of you guys would like to tell me.

War of the Visions, no spoiler alert this week, because I haven’t played at all this week. I might give it a rest, because I don’t think I want to have to level up Mont just to beat a scene. War of the Visions.

You might have defeated me.

Maybe I should try Brave Exvius once again. It’s been out for a while. I wonder how far I can get into the story before The First Soldier comes out. Not to mention my backlog of PS4 games. Maybe, I just need a Twitch account. Then I can play games because it’s part of my business plan. Mostly Final Fantasy, but any kind of game will work well. I just need to figure out the setup, Mics, cameras cables and whatnot. I bet it’s pretty easy to figure it out. Just ask Google.

Hey, if we get a Twitch account setup, we can probably start live box breaks. Just a thought.

Got To Be, the Very Best

I started playing Pokemon Online, mainly because I work all day and there are no places open late at night to find someone to play FFTCG with. That and It’s very simple to pick up, with the tutorial and the Trainer Challenges, there’s something to do. Even when you work all day.

Mostly I’ll just start a match and go about my business and when I’m close to the laptop, I’ll take a look, survey what’s going on and make my moves, before I set off again to do what I need to do.

Turns out it’s a very interesting game.

Behind the Pikachus, are the game’s mechanics which upon closer observation, I enjoyed. The game sucked me in and I have been playing for about a month now. I have all these old codes that shall get me a whole bunch of packs with them. Now, I believe this is something that FFTCG should do. I know I would be playing. But, that’s for another post.

The Trainer Challenges are a great way for anyone to make their way into this game. It allows you to figure out how a deck works, and you don’t have to worry about facing an actual person, as I tend to shy away from online play. Hoping to learn exactly what I am doing before jumping in.

The computer opponents are pretty easy to beat, giving you a little bit of a challenge. But, once you figure it out, it becomes fairly simple.

I haven’t tried building a deck yet, mostly because I have no Mimikyu cards. I’ll eventually get to trying out the deck builder. Once I get all these packs and have enough good cards to get a decent deck going. If anyone wants to play, kardboardkorner is my display name.
