We’ll be holding a Tournament along with Game Knight Chicago once again. Prizes for Top 8 once again. That means you’ll have a decent chance to walk away with something. Plus, you’ll get a couple of packs just for entering. Plenty of Vendors will be present once again. We’re sure someone there will have something that you’re looking for.

Standard Format
Swiss Rounds – 30 min, 1 match
Top Cut – 60 min, Best of 3

2nd Place – Emissaries of Light Prerelease Kit and Non-Foil Promo
3rd Place – FFX Custom Starter Set, and Non-Foil Promo
4th Place – 4 Booster Packs and Non-Foil Promo

And, there you have it. You all better come down and have a go. I’ll probably be entering the Tournament this time, dusting off the Kardboard and I’m getting ready to take you all down. I got a couple of Ideas for a deck, we’ll see which one I bring.

How?

It’s simple. Come on down and enter our Pre-Release Event on April, 15th and if you win, you’ll win a Booster Box, and bragging rights of course.

2nd Prize – Prerelease Kit
3rd Prize – Your choice of Starter Set from what is available on hand.

Everybody else will get a Booster Pack of Emissaries of Light.

It will be Double Elimination Draft.

You’ll be drafting your kit, and after that you’ll need to be the last one standing after everyone else has lost 2 matches.

Entry fee which includes the Pre-Release kit will be $45
After that the rest of the kits will be $40 and Booster Boxes $100.

When?

April 15th, as mentioned above. You can come in around 10PM. You can play a couple of casual games while we get everything set up. Tournament will start at Midnight.

Crystal Dominion Prerelease Kit Preview.

We finally got a look at the Pre-release Kit, and the Theatrhythm Promo card, featuring none other than Butz .. I mean Bartz. Sleeves featuring Firion and 9 packs of Crystal Dominion goodness. And it shall be here next month. 6 weeks away if nothing goes wrong. Let’s see if Joe actually does something. Along with UPS, Fedex and Walmart. But, that’s  another story.

Now, we do have a card here, Let’s take a look.

“EX BURST When a Job Warrior of Light other than Bartz enters your field, gain (C).

If you have a (C), Bartz gains +2000 power.

When a Job Warrior of Light you control is put from the field into the Break Zone, you may pay (C)(C)(C). When you do so, play it onto the field. This effect will trigger only once per turn.”

Do you know what that means. You need a card Job : Warrior of Light that will also serve as your main card. Wait, What? Let me rephrase this.

Faris (12-128L) that is the card you will be playing. Or atleast I would. Think about it. Faris attacks for 8k not counting buffs. Even if she doesn’t break the blocking Forward. She will be sent to the Break Zone. You’ll bring her back for 3(C). And when she re-enters the field, you will gain (C). Which, even if you used your last Crystals, Bartz will still have his +2K power and Faris will deal 2k damage to a Forward for each Job Warrior of Light you control.

And come to realize it. Faris and Bartz are both Category : V as well.

Let’s see Warrior of Light Theme Deck become a thing. Now if we can only get Jack aboard. Maybe by Resurgence of Power.

My Very First Kit.

Well, I definitely had the itch.

I started heading to the card shop, to learn how to play, but it was mostly hit or miss. Plenty of times, there was no one there to play with. But, I still had to find myself some packs. I would keep buying a couple here and there, from the card shop.

I would start looking for local game stores around my area that would sell Final Fantasy TCG, but sadly there weren’t that many. Most of them didn’t even know FFTCG existed.

I stumbled upon The Gaming Goat, in Tinley Park. Great place.

Walked in and noticed the booster boxes behind the counter. I had found a new place to shop. And, sitting right next to the boxes was an Opus VI Prerelease Kit. Now, I got excited. This was the first time I ever laid eyes upon it. It was like a mini booster box, but better. I quickly picked it up and drove straight home.

Sat down and got ready to open up the kit. The tape was cut, but I didn’t mind I still would have the packs, the promo card and the sleeves. I pulled back the top cover and all the packs were open! What happened here? Why is there a Yu-Gi-Oh card in here? I called them up, and I guess they figured out what happened, but they exchanged it and made my day.

Now, looking back, I think the opened cards were better than what I pulled from the packs.
