Izana, in the Rough

Well, I won’t spoil anything for those of you that haven’t played Final Fantasy Type-0. All I’ll say is that Izana likes Chocobos. And for that simple reason he should be in every Chocobo deck. Just because he can search for a Chocobo, or job name Chocobo.

On to the card.

2CP : Wind
Forward
Job : Dominion Legionary
Category : Type-0
Common
5000 Power

“When Izana enters the field, you may search for 1 Job Chocobo or Card Name Chocobo and add it to your hand.”

Now, a couple cards that will help you out will be Chocobo Knight (5-061C), and Chocobo (6-050C). Chocobo Knight is a better version of Izana, as you can dull him and play a Chocobo from your hand onto the field. And Chocobo will let you play another Chocobo unto the field as he enters.

The way I see it, if Chocobo Knight is already on the field, you play Izana search for Chocobo (6-050C), Dull Chocobo Knight, play Chocobo, which will give you another Chocobo. And if you have a way to keep activating Chocobo Knight well, you can play as many Chocobos as you can onto the field.

This is turning out to be an article about Chocobo Knight. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments.

Fly Me to the Moon

Golbez is up next as our card of the week. We skipped a couple of the Opus XIII Legends, because well, Llednar you can just look at Shara, and Spiritus and Materia, well I believe the review we did for them was enough.

Golbez here is ready to take you on with help of the Archfiends, because it’s not worth playing this if you aren’t playing with Archfiends, with your back against the wall.

On to the card

5CP – Lightning/Wind
Forward
Job : Warlock
Category : LOV – IV
Legend
9000 Power

“EX BURST When Golbez enters the field, you may search for 1 card of cost 2 and add it to your hand.

Damage 6 ― When Golbez enters the field, you may search for up to 3 cards of cost 2 and add them to your hand. Then, you may play any number of Job Archfiend from your hand onto the field.”

5 cost, but you get to search for a card. End of the day you’re only paying 3CP for 9K. Which is pretty good. And at 6 Damage, you’re actually up 3CP.

The plan is to flood the board with the 4 Archfiends with your back against the wall, hoping that it’s enough to take down your opponent. Just grab the 4 Archfiends from Opus XIII and call it a day. They are all 2CP of different elements and they all come with some great abilities to slowly pick apart your opponent.

Ideally you would want to play Cagnazzo first, in order for him to get the Water Counters, then you would play Scarmiglione, for next damage dealt is double to one forward. Rubicante to deal that forward a minimum of 10K. And finally Barbaricia to deal 8K to one Forward since you’ll have a total of four Archfiends on the board.

Now, there’s more to it than just Archfiends. You can search for any card 2 cost card. Rikku (2-071R) is a good choice, a good backup to activate all your forwards right before you end your turn so that they can block. Lightning (5-116H) comes in with Haste and leaves the field at the end of the turn. Luso (9-058L), cheap 2CP/5K body that gets stronger for each Forward you have on the field. And if all 4 Archfiends just came in, that’s +5K including Golbez. Kunshira (13-114H) cheap card to play with an amazing ability. Shikaree X (12-044R), Shikaree Y (12-045R), and Shikaree Z (12-046R) the trio from Opus XII, when played correctly can cause you opponent 3 point of Damage.

Then there is Mioune (5-067R) and Chocobo (10-055H), both will let you return Golbez to your hand, in order to play him once again at Damage 6 and search for 4 cards. Now imagine that you can grab up to 16 cards in one turn. Combine that with a Well timed Sheoll from Illua (5-099H), and I believe that you can clear the board and win the game in 1 turn. A little tweaking here and there, but it is possible.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

Dungeons & Dragons FF Campaign 02

Last week’s game was a short one. Kids were tired and couldn’t hang as much as they would have liked. But, we still made an effort to move on, at least for a little.

Our “Saviors” had reached the Temple of Fiends. It was a stone shrine that looked like it was abandoned. As they reached the door, the sky darkened and dark clouds started gathering around the temple.

They had a bad feeling. They decided they shoud send in the meat shield … I mean Astra Atlantos in first, to take a look. She went in and all she could see was a dark hallway to the left and right of her, and a huge door right in front of her. There was a single candle lit that barely gave enough light to see anything. Astra grabbed the candle and looked around a bit. She didn’t see much of anything and thought that no one was in the temple. Astra tried to open the door, but it was locked.

She returned outside and the wind blew out the candle she was carrying. Astra told Akrasia, and Mr. Tinkles about what was inside. As they started to enter, Chocobo just sat down and did not want to enter the Temple. They tried to get Chocobo to come in with them, but he wouldn’t budge. Astra Atlantos decided that she would carry Chocobo inside

Once inside they decided that it would be best, if they set fire to the door, and then ram into it as it would get weaker as the flames ate away at the wood. Akrasia cast fire, but the door would not catch a flame. Astra decided that since she was a towering princess that it would just give away. So, she ran into the door shoulder first. Knocking Chocobo out cause she forgot to let him down.

There was a loud Bang heard as she hit the door. And then our “Saviors” started hearing foot steps. Now they were scared. As the footsteps were getting closer, they decided to run out of the temple and regroup.

Outside, they tried healing Chocobo, but nothing would work. They decided to leave him outside and venture back into the temple, by themselves.

Once inside, they saw four skeletons to the left and right of the door. They tried to charm their way into the temple, by asking for a room to stay. All four skeletons pointed to the door and just moaned. They tried once again, only to get the same reply.

Our party decided that they had to fight, and drew their weapons. The skeletons went down pretty easy. As Akrasia, cast fire, Mr. Tinkles cast Dia, and Astra just went head first knocking the skeletons out.

After defeating the skeletons, the party decided to step outside to regroup, once again.
