Enter the Zero World

This one should be interesting, but we have an idea. Maybe it’ll work, maybe it won’t. There’s only one way to find out.
First things first we need to bring out Necron, and base the whole deck around the fact that Necron can deal a point of Damage at the end of each of your turns, as long as there are at least 3 Dark Characters on the field.

Next we need a way to grab Necron. Ysayle (6-022R) and Laguna (9-037C) are both great cards that allow you to search for Necron when they enter the field.

Let’s get to some Dark Cards, to make use of Necron’s ability. Spiritus is at the top of the list, as we’re actually going to grab 2 different Spiritus. Spiritus (6-129H) and Spiritus (13-104L). 3 copies of each as they both allow you to search for a Dark Forward.

The Emperor (1-185H) because he is able to recycle himself, if he gets broken. That way you’ll still have the same amount of Dark Characters on the field, as he comes back into play dull.

Twintania (16-130H) and Vinera Fennes (17-129H) both are cheap Dark Forwards. And, since most of the cards we’re playing are high cost we do need a couple of the cheaper ones to keep us balanced.

We’re going to go right ahead and add Garland (IX) (8-026L), cause it still is a great card. And, it needs to be used more often. Plus dulling and Freezing a card every turn is great.

We need more Backups.

Devout (1-048C), Always a decent card to have, as you can grab a Forward from the Break Zone and play it to the field. You can’t grab Necron, but you can grab plenty of Dark Forwards that might already be in your Break Zone.

Rinoa (2-048R), we’ll grab her, to search for Laguna, to search for Necron.

Cid (WOFF) (4-034R), This is a great choice for the Character that turns into a Dark Character. As Cid (WoFF) cannot be broken. And, it’s only 2CP.

Let’s add Chocobo Eater (19-027R) and Flan (19-031C) cause this deck looks like it can use a couple of Monsters. Flan pretty much regenerates, and Chocobo Eater can remove a Forward.

Mateus, the Corrupt (5-044C) that way you can Attack with a Dark Forward, without worrying about it being blocked, and possibly sent to the Break Zone.

Zalera (9-025H) to break a Dull Forward, and Shiva (19-022R) just because it is a Free Summon!

Forwards

3x – Spiritus (13-104L)
3x – (Twintania (16-130H)
3x – Vinera Fennes ((17-129H)
3x – Garland (IX)(8-026L)
3x – The Emperor (1-185H)
3x – Laguna (9-037C)
3x – Necron (12-021R)

Backups

3x – Cid (WOFF) (4-034R)
3x – Rinoa (2-048R)
3x – Devout (1-048C)
3x – Ysayle – (6-022R)
3x – Spiritus – (6-129H)

Summons

3x – Mateus, the Corrupt (5-044C)
3x – Zalera (9-025H)
2x – Shiva (19-022R)

Monsters

3x – Chocobo Eater (19-027R)
3x – Flan (19-031C)

Plan of attack is to bring out Necron, and get your 3 Dark Characters on the field. Just Find a way to keep those Dark Characters on the field, and you’ll slowly watch your opponent’s Damage rack up until he gets 7 points of Damage.

It’s a waiting game.

Frosty, the Snowlady

Time to cool off as Shiva, enters the fray.

On to the card.

5CP/Ice
Forward
Job : Primal
Category : XIV
Legend
9000 Power

“You cannot play Shiva, Lady of Frost or Card Name Ysayle while already in control of either Character.

When Shiva, Lady of Frost enters the field, choose 1 Character opponent controls. Dull it. Freeze all the Forwards opponent controls.

Put 3 Backups into the Break Zone: Remove Shiva, Lady of Frost from the game. Then, play Shiva, Lady of Frost onto the field.”

As you can see, Shiva comes in with a great ability. Dull one Character and Freeze all the Forwards opponent controls. You can even reuse it, as long as you have 3 backups available. Plus she only costs 5CP.

On a closer look. You can see that you cannot play Shiva, Lady of the Frost onto the field if you already have Ysayle out. And that is fine, we won’t get into why, but we’ll say that Shiva, is a leveled up Ysayle. As you can dull Ysayle (14-020R), put her in the Break Zone, and then play Shiva on to the field.

You already know I’ll say, Duke Larg (1-057R) for the +1K buff. Scholar (5-030C) will help you pull Ysayle out of the Break Zone, if you need to.

Now, Ysayle (6-022R) will let you search for an Ice Forward. But, since Ysayle (14-020R) is already out you might not play the other one, but this one can be put in the Break Zone to help pay for bouncing Shiva, but you might just be causing more headaches this way.

Moogle (XIV) (14-037C), is great, not just for Shiva, but any other Primal as well, depending on what elements you are playing. Same goes for Amalj’aa, Ixali, Kobold, Sylph, and Sahagin. As each one will activate whenever a Primal enters the field, and all have abilities that can only be used when a Primal is on the field.

Shiva, Lady of Frost is a great card to add to your existing decks. Or any Ice deck for the matter as long as you’re Dulling and Freezing.

Anything you’d like to add? Leave a comment.

Opus XIV – Ice Review

14-020R – Ysayle

Ysayle, works as a place holder for Shiva, Lady of the Frost (14-036L). Other than that, you can use her to play any Ice Forward of 5CP or less, but Shiva makes perfect sense.

7K body for 3CP isn’t bad either.

14-021H – Valfodr

Great monster for a Physalis deck. Or any other Discard deck that you can think of. Your opponent will think twice before trying to Break Valfodr.

14-022H – Kam’lanaut

Kam’lanaut has the ability that keeps on giving … your opponent head aches. If you have a full line of Ice Backups you are set to go as everytime Kam’lanaut attacks you’ll be dealing 10K Damage to a dull Forward.

And if you want a little more spice, Light Blade is even stronger as it deals 2K for each Ice Character you control.

14-023L – Gilgamesh (FFBE)

Now this is a card we’re excited about, we talked about this card in one of our videos when they showed him off.

If you take the time to set Gilgamesh up. and that should be pretty easy especially if you have Don Corneo (11-134S) Just put the top 15 cards of your deck in the Break Zone. Should be enough elements in there to get these abilities off.

After that Gilgamesh woll have +1K power, Haste , First Strike, Brave, Gilgamesh can attack 3 times in the same turn, and everytime he attacks, “Choose one Character, dull it, and Freeze it.”

14-024C – Bard

2 cost Backup that will Dull and Freeze one of your opponents cards, for an Ice Crystal Point.

14-025C – Kuja

I’m starting to like how these Final Fantasy Villains play. They’re not all Legends or Heros, but they have some simple abilities that are effective.

Like, Kuja here, once he gets chosen by your opponents Summons or abilities, you choose 1 of their Forwards and Dull them.

But, it’s the 5CP that might make you skip this card.

14-026R – Kefka EX

Now, Kefka is a better card than Kuja, for a couple of reasons.

1) You Dull a Forward when he enters the field.

2) He is only 3CP, compared to Kuja’s 5, but he is just a Backup

3) He his ability can come off an EX Burst

14-027R – The Emperor

Hailing from Palamecia, the Emperor isn’t that special unless he is in your Break Zone. Form there you can use his ability. By Removing 15 Ice cards from your Break Zone, you can play the Emperor onto the field, and since he entered the field due to an ability, you can look at th top card of your deck, and if it is a Character (any card but a summon) you can add it to your hand.

14-028C – Goblin

I’d call this a ticking time bomb. Every time it ticks it gets more power. But this time bomb, you can have it go off whenever you choose to.

14-029R – Shivalry EX

This is a decent summon that will pair well with Physalis. Choose 1 Forward, +3K Power, Forward breaks Forward, Opponent discard card from hand.

For 2CP this card, can be useful, I can see it getting some play.

14-030C – Serah

Her only task is to take a big hit and to be broken. Her Job might say Saboteur, but it really is Meat Shield.

Depending on the situation you can pick which ability to use.

14-031R – Good King Moggle Mog XII

That’s a big name.

If you remember the battle, you remember that it was all over the place. You had to destroy the Moogles, which in turn let you fight the King. And it would go back and forth till the King was Dead.

Now, everytime Good King Moggle Mog XII gets broken, you can in theory discard 2 Moogles and bring him back to your hand. Now we said in theory, because it can be any 2 cards. Not just moogles.

But at the end of the turn you can search for a 3CP moogle and play it onto the field.

Should be a fun card to play.

14-032R – Proto fal’Cie Adam

Another great card to play with Physalis (13-028L)

The less cards your opponent has, the better this card gets.

Plus the Manipulator Counters can save this card twice.

14-033C – Devout

Don’t like the cards you just drew? Just play Devout with those 2 cards and hopefully get something better. And if that doesn’t work, Dull and Break and hopefully you’ll get something better once again.

14-034C – Time Mage

Now the wording on the card is a little weird.

Does the ability go off only when Time Mage is dulled by your opponent? Or, does it go off when you attack, and dull him due to attacking as well?

14-035C – Don Corneo

It’s almost like the game.

You get to choose one of three.

Which one piques your interest?

There should be a cross-dressing Cloud somewhere around here.

14-036L – Shiva, Lady of the Frost

I like this card. Expect a Card of the Week coming soon.

But, you pretty much play Shiva off of Ysayle. Dull a Forward, then Freeze all the Forwards opponent controls.

And if they get active by an ability or Summon, there’s a way to replay the card.

Or, you can just save that for a later turn.

14-037C – Moogle (XIV)

You’ll only play this card with Good King Moggle Mog XII.

14-038H – Lugae

This card in my opinion is like equipping a Forward with a stronger weapon. Only difference, is Lugae must be on the field in order for your Forward to gain the 2K and Brave when it enters the field.

I hope that makes sense.

I already like this card.

Physalis Attraction

Physalis is our card of the week, this week. One of the better cards in this set, and with a good cast around her, she will do some Damage.

On to the card

5CP – Ice
Forward
Job : Member of the Orders
Category : FFBE
9000 Power
Legend

When Physalis enters the field or attacks, if your opponent has 3 cards or less in their hand, select 1 of the 2 following actions. If your opponent has no cards in their hand, select up to 2 of the 2 following actions instead.

“Choose 1 Character. Dull it and Freeze it.” “Draw 1 card.”

Premium Physalis Bullet (S)(I)(I): Choose 1 Forward. Deal it 10000 damage. That Forward’s controller discards 1 card from their hand.

Physalis’ cost might be a little high at 5CP, but she makes up for it. 9K Power is good by itself, but it’s her abilities that make her shine. Being able to draw a card every time she attacks, is worth the 5CP you paid for her, because you will get it back in a couple of turns.

The characters that surround Physalis in this deck, support her, mostly by causing your opponent to discard their cards. And if you still need to get rid of a card in their hand, you can use “Premium Physalis Bullet” right before you attack as it does not cause Physalis to Dull.

There’s plenty of Forwards that will cause your opponent to discard a card from their hands. Argath (1-033C), Locke(4-048L), and Locke(12-116L) all have on entry abilities that will make your opponent Discard 1 card. Borghen(6-039H) will make them, discard a card when he enters the Break Zone. He’s basically a cheap blocker. Innocence (13-137S), dulls and makes your opponent discard 2 cards. Laguna (9-037C) searches for an Ice Forward. Squall (6-033H has effects depending on how many cards your opponent has. Baralai (12-114R) Has abilities that trigger when your opponent discards a card from his hand, or your backups activate. Vayne (9-022L) will make your opponent pay 1CP for each Forward they have, or they will be broken.

Laguna (9-037C) along with Ysayle (6-022R) will let you search for Physalis. And if she ends up in the Break Zone Devout (1-048C) will be there to bring her back. Gestahlian Empire Cid (4-026H) will let you search for Locke, and Setzer (8-036C) will grab him from the Break Zone.

Bard (1-036C) will dull and your opponent shall discard 1 card. Class Ninth Moogle (9-033C) will let you pay the Wind Crystal Point needed for Baralai and Locke, but will also let you cast Asura (2-049H) and Pandemonium (5-032H). Both which will activate your backups and let Baralai deal 3K Damage to all your opponents Forwards.

2 More Summons. Mateus, the Corrupt (5-044C) Just to Break a blocking Forward if you need to. And, Glasya Labolas (5-032H) so, your opponent can discard another card.

And, finally Scale Toad (8-034R) Your opponent will discard a card if they have more than 2 cards in there hand at the end of their turn.

The plan here is to have your opponent have no cards in their hand. Causing them to not be able to play anything. Physalis will shine, if you get your way in this match. Along with some powerful Forwards, it’ll be hard for you to lose this match.
Here’s the run down

Forwards

Borghen (6-039H) x3
Argath (1-033C) x3
Squall (6-033H) x3
Locke (4-048L) x3

Innocence (13-137S) x2
Vayne (9-022L) x3

Physalis (13-028L) x3

Gestahlian Empire Cid (4-026H) x2
Devout (1-048C) x3
