Good Problems

It’s been a wild week at the shop! We’ve been steadily restocking our TCGPlayer and eBay stores, but I’ve noticed a pattern: as soon as the “List” button is hit, the cards are out the door within 24 hours.

It’s a “good” problem to have, but it means our stock is thinning out fast! If you see something you need for your deck, don’t wait—it probably won’t be there tomorrow.

The Road to Dreamlike Oceans

We are officially on the countdown to Opus XXVIII: Dreamlike Oceans next month! You know what that means: Midnight Prerelease is coming.

We’ve been running these since Opus XIV: Crystal Abyss, and the tradition remains the same. If you’re new to the crew, just know two things:

  1. You’ll have a shot at winning a kit.

  2. Pack your energy drinks—we usually go until at least 3:00 AM. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, but it’s always a blast.

Spoiler Season: Is that Snow or “Dirty Dom”?

Square Enix kicked off spoiler season with Snow (28-031L), and I have to ask… is it just me, or does he look exactly like “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio? All he’s missing is the mustache.

Wrestling comparisons aside, let’s look at the math on this card. Snow is a CP, Power Forward with a versatile “Choose 2” auto-ability on entry:

  • Dull/Freeze a Character.

  • Search/Filter: Reveal top 2, add an FFXIII Character to hand. The rest go to the Break Zone.

  • CP Reduction: Your next FFXIII card costs CP less.

The Strategy: If you reveal a card to add to your hand and then use the CP reduction, Snow effectively only costs you CP. For an 8k “Meat Shield” with the Sentinel keyword, that is incredible value. He’s a true tank—he’s there to soak up the pressure while you set up your win con.

Flea Market Finds: Elfen Lied

The Wednesday flea market run actually paid off this week! I stumbled across the complete series of Elfen Lied.

If you aren’t familiar, it’s a darker, cult-classic anime from the early 2000s—definitely for a mature audience. It’s a short 13-episode run, and finding the physical DVDs in the wild is becoming rarer these days. I’ll be “sacrificing” my evening to watch through them tonight just to “ensure the discs work perfectly.” (Any excuse to rewatch a classic, right?)

From Opus I to Valentine’s Day

What have we been up to? In a word: Listing.

We have been heads-down and deep in the stacks, restocking Final Fantasy TCG across both our TCGPlayer and eBay stores. We’ve officially finished processing everything from Opus I through Opus VI, plus singles from the World Champions Decks 2024.

Honestly? I didn’t expect the World Champions singles to move as fast as they have! It’s a good lesson learned: don’t sleep on the specialty decks. If you’ve been looking for specific older Opus cards to round out your collection, now is the time to go hunting in our shop.

The Winter Slump

The winter weather has been a real mood-killer for my flea market runs. I’ve tried to make it work, but there’s nothing more frustrating than driving all the way out there just to find the gates closed or the same two vendors selling things I definitely don’t want. I’m crossing my fingers for a break in the weather soon so I can get back to the hunt!

Looking Ahead: Dreamlike Oceans

Don’t forget, Opus XXVII – Dreamlike Oceans is launching at the end of next month! That means the Midnight Prerelease is also just around the “Korner” in March. We’ll have the specific details for you soon, though you know the drill—we like to keep the tradition alive, so expect the same great vibe we always have.

A Early Valentine’s Gift for You ❤️

Since Valentine’s Day is right around the “Korner,” we figured it was time for a celebration. Whether you’re buying a gift for a loved one or just “treating yo’ self” (we won’t tell!), we want to help you save.

Starting now, take 14% OFF your entire order!

Promo Code: VINCENT
Expires: Midnight on February 14th

Head over to the shop and snag those cards or sealed product you’ve been eyeing before someone else does!

Don’t forget about our TCG Player store either.

Blissful Eternity

The Final Fantasy Trading Card Game community is buzzing today with the official reveal of Opus XXVIII: Blissful Eternity. With a heavy focus on one of the franchise’s most beloved entries and some high-end collector’s items, this set is shaping up to be a monumental release for 2026.

Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming set.

Mark Your Calendars: Release Dates

The summer is looking hot for FFTCG players. Set your reminders for these key dates:

  • Midnight Prerelease: July 24, 2026

  • Official Launch: July 31, 2026

Note: Stay tuned for more details on our Midnight Prerelease event coming soon!

The Year of Final Fantasy X

It’s no coincidence that Tidus is gracing the box art for Blissful Eternity, following Yuna’s appearance on the Dreamlike Oceans (Opus XXVII) box art coming this March.

As we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Final Fantasy X, the game is clearly taking center stage. Fans are already speculating that this could mean the return of the “YRP” (Yuna, Rikku, Paine) meta. Will we see new versions of the iconic trio to shake up the competitive scene?

The Return of “Noir” and Gold Signatures

Collectors, get your top-loaders ready. The Noir style—first introduced in the FFTCG Special PR Collection Noir—is making a comeback. These striking black-and-white reprints featuring Tetsuya Nomura’s signature are highly coveted, and this set brings a heavy hitter:

  1. Noir Reprint: Cloud (11-127L)

  2. The Gold Treatment: A brand new Sephiroth (29-087L) will receive the Full Art Gold Signature treatment.

With two Gold Signatures in one set, the hunt is on. I’m personally curious to see if the pull rates for these will be identical; I have a sneaking suspicion that one might end up being the ‘ultimate’ chase card of the set, but we’ll have to wait for the official drop to find out.

Set Breakdown & Legacy Cards

Opus XXVIII is packed with value, boasting a massive 36 Full Art cards. We also have confirmation on the Legacy Card slots, which feature some powerhouse reprints:

  • Gilgamesh (14-023L)

  • Warrior of Light (21-121L)

  • Mont Leonis (22-113L)

First Look: New Artwork

While we don’t have the full text for these cards yet, the artwork for seven key characters has been teased. The lineup includes:

  • Seymour, Eiko, Yuna, Kelger, Roche, Faris, and Zidane.

What are you most excited for in Blissful Eternity? Are you chasing that Noir Cloud, or are you hoping for a meta-defining YRP comeback? Let us know in the comments!

Kardboard Occean

08/18

Started off with finishing the restock of Opus XI. On both TCG Player and eBay. I still need to get some new Opus XI listings on eBay, I just have to find out where I placed those cards.

Tried Organizing the office again. The shelves in particular. Sometimes items come in, and I just throw it all on the shelves. And, that makes a big mess, because if you don’t do it right the first time, you won’t go back to it anytime soon. It does look a lot better now compared to before, but it is nowhere near to finished. And, I don’t think it ever will be.

We can always hope.

We’re really getting into 99 Nights in the Forest. I’ll play a game with the kids every night. We’ll make it to the end. So far we reached day 7, and I always die trying to save them from whatever is attacking them.

08/19

Toploaders came in today, now we don’t need to worry about them until we run out again. We got our last batch in April. 4 months. Let’s see when we’ll have to order our next batch. Let’s try for 3 months this time.

Also a batch of Heroes came in including Foils. I just wanted to pick up one card, the Full Art Ultros from Crystal Dominion, and I can’t stop at one card. I ended up stopping at around 350.

We might even have bulk Hero lots coming soon.

Did the restock for Opus XII – Crystal Awakening. Tcg Player and eBay.

Also got a deck up for The Twelve. They look like they’ll be fun to play.

08/20

Had a 125 card order today, that took me a couple of hours to put together. Mainly because it was an eBay order, and you can’t download a pull sheet that is sorted like they do on TCG Player. Maybe you can, I just haven’t figured out how. If it was a TCG Player order, it would have taken me maybe 30 minutes.

It was a busy day with the kids today. Meet the Teachers, and Soccer Practice. They’re starting to do really well, and they enjoy playing soccer. School it’s 50/50 on that one.

Going to have more Bulk lots soon. They’re all halfway done at the moment.

Also, I found a case of Rebellion’s Call Prerelease Kits! It was a nice surprise. Now if they were Opus XI, that would have been a whole lot cooler. But, if you need one they should be up on the site, so go ahead and grab one.

08/21

After a long hot summer, the kids are finally back to school. Now we can start focusing on Trading Cards. It’s always a slowdown during the summer for me, just because I can’t get as much done as I can during the school season. It’s mostly cause I like hanging out with the little ones.

Have I ever mentioned Before Dawn?

It’s something I have been working on for 20 years. On and mostly off. I keep trying to restart it from the begining, the last couple of years I’ve been getting it going. It started off as an RPG, now it’s taking on many forms, and I have some plans for it. I’ll have more info on that soon. I won’t say much more about it … for now.

08/22

I’ve been working on Before Dawn all day, almost forgot to head to the Post Office because of it.

And, that was all I did. Yesterday and today, I probably spent a good 10 hours on it.

Oh, and Dreamlike Oceans was announced. Not today, a couple days ago. We already made our announcement on it. And, yes we are excited!

08/23

The kids have a game today. Got to wake up early, open up the restaurant, and then head to the game which is about 30 minutes away.

I got there, my kids were both starters. We started off the game good, and then well, we need a Goal Keeper. They play in quarters. The first quarter they had a kid that was great. The second quarter, the kid was day dreaming, playing with the net on the side, the third quarter same thing. Last quarter they put in someone else again. We ended up losing 5-0.

At least they’re having fun.

08/24

Sunday was quiet.

Slow day.

Ended up taking one of the kids out to play soccer.

Got some dinner, and finished the orders.

Also worked on Before Dawn a little bit.

Dreamlike Oceans

Square Enix gave us a look into the future. And, it means we’re going on vacation. Picture this a beach a dreamlike ocean, a daiquiri in your hand sitting under an umbrella, and Yuna performs the Sending as she guides the spirits of the dead to the Farplane.

Well something like that.

This is actually the first time that Final Fantasy X has graced the box art. And it might just be the best one yet. And, I’m not a big fan of Yuna, so that’s saying something. And, let’s not forget the Golden Signature. This one is Yuna’s second. And, I see this one commanding a high price in the future. (That’s just speculation.)

Scheduled for release on March 27, 2026. We’ll have a smaller set with 124 cards, and 38 Full Arts.

Along with Yuna, there are sample cards of Garnet, Edward, Lumina, Cloud, Cecil and Yoshikiri.

Looking at Yuna’s card, Maybe the Gullwings will come back. YRP! I can’t say that we’ve seen a good Rikku and Paine in quite some time. At least not one that I liked.
