29-020R – Astos

I’m liking this Astos. The only thing that would make it better is 8-bit Pixel art. C’mon Square-Enix, give us what we want! Or, at least what Kardboard Korner wants.

Astos a 2cost Forward that will Dull//Freeze one of your opponent’s Forwards.

So far, so good.

Astos will stay on the field, and once he blocks one of your opponent’s attacks and gets sent to the Break Zone, Astos will search for another Astos, and that Astos will be played on to the field dull, means that Astos will Dull//Freeze one of your opponent’s Forwards once again.

3 of these in any Ice deck will be good.

29-021R – Ultima Weapon Origin

Ok, we got a Weapon.

Ultima Weapon is more like a Shotgun. Double Barrel. You are able to deal 2000 damage to all of your opponent’s Forwards.

You can then Activate Ultima Weapon Origin and use that ability again. That’ll bring the total damage to 4000 per Forward. You’ll probably break a few of them, and the others will be on the verge of being broken, so your attacks will go through or you’ll break those Forward when they block.

And, with a 9K body, Ultima Weapon Origin will stick around long enough to be a thorn in your opponent’s side.

29-022R – Cray Claw

4CP for a Monster? Are there other Monsters that cost 4CP? Quite a few actually.

Cray Claw comes on in and deals one of your opponent’s Forwards 5000 damage, and depending on how many cards they have in their hand, that damage can go up to 8000. Which is good enough to break a Forward, depending on the Forward that is.

And, if you have 5 Backups on the field, Cray Claw will also become a Forward with 9000 power.

It’s not bad, It’s not great, it’s decent.

29-023C – Goblin

A 1 cost Monster.

Cheap.

Deals a dull Forward 3000 damage.

Draws you a card.

That’s about it.

29-024H – Shiva

For 5CP you can choose up to 3 abilities, and all of these are good as stand alone, but when you can combine, 3 of the 4 choices, you’re going to cause disruption.

1) Dull/Freeze 2 Forwards
2) Dull/Freeze a Backup
3) Your opponent discards a card
4) All your Ice Forwards gain +3000 power.

Mix and match, and then attack.

29-025R/26-029R – Shiva (XVI)

“Shiva is a great card to play all by herself. You don’t even need Jill to Prime into her. But, you probably should. It’s cheaper in the long run and you get a better ability.

When Shiva comes in you will Freeze all of your opponent’s Forwards. If you Primed into Shiva you will Freeze all of your opponent’s Characters instead.

Ice Age? Yes, let’s have your opponent discard 2 cards from their hand. This works even better if they only have 2 cards in their hand.

Let’s see what Jill does.”

29-026C – Cid Raines

This is where your discard deck will shine a bit more.

Cause every time your opponent discards a card, Cid Raines will Dull/Freeze one of their Characters.

The good thing is that Cid doesn’t need anyone else for this, he can take care of it all by himself as well.

When you have 3 points of damage and Cid enters the field, your opponent discards a card. And, let’s not forget about Seraphic Ray, where your opponent discard a card as well.

.

29-027L – Shantotto

This Shantotto looks spicy. And, how does an Ice card have a Fire spell in the art?

Anyway, on to the card. Shantotto being Shantotto, as she comes in and casts Dull//Freeze on all the Characters except for Mages.

That’s a quick way to get the upper hand on your opponent, they won;t be able to block anything this turn, and you can come in swinging. All you need is a way to activate all of your Forwards that aren’t Mages and you can go to town.

Shantotto still has one more ability that Activates once per turn.

Break a dull Forward, Freeze 2 Backups, or have your opponent discard a card.

All of which are good.

Is this the card we need to get a Mage deck going?

29-028C – Jill

What is it with Jill and Freezing your opponent?

Think about it.

Jill and Jihl Nabaat, what do they have in common? They’re both Ice cards and they both Freeze.

But, Jill will also Dull 2 Forwards while Freezing them.

Plus a 7K body that can Prime into Shiva, I’ll take it.

29-029R – Xezat

I like this card.

Xezat is the ultimate protection against your opponent’s Summons and abilities. As long as you have a couple of Crystals.

Your opponent must choose Xezat when they are targeting. Meaning that while Xezat will probably be broken, you can use his second ability that costs 2 Crystals, send him to the Break Zone, since he was already going there, and remove one of your opponent’s Forwards from the game.

You can choose the Forward that cast the ability, or choose another Forward cause that ability will fizzle out anyways.

Either way, you’re slowing your opponent down, and Xezat did what he came in to do.

Xezat is also an 8K body.

29-030H – Celes

Yes, put this in any Ice deck.

Celes comes in for 4CP and you can play an Ice Character from your hand onto the field. 3CP or less. That means that you’re only paying 1CP to play Celes.

And if you’ve been playing Ice like it should be played, your opponent will have at least a couple of dull Forwards on the field. That means that Celes can not be chosen by Summons or abilities.

You can also dull 2 of your Forwards, in order to dull one of your opponent’s Forwards, which will add to the total number of Forwards that your opponent has.

Celes also has a 7K body, so she will be sticking around for quite a bit.

29-031C – Onion Knight (FFTS)

I actually used this card at Midnight Prerelease. And, I got to say it won me a match.

Onion Knight, just like in the games, gets stronger later in the game.

Depending on how much damage you have taken. Let’s say at 3 points of damage, Onion Knight gains +2000 power. And at 5 points of Damage, Onion Knight gains +2000 power and First Strike.

This gives Onion Knight a total of 9000 power and First Strike at the end of the game. And, you can have 3 of them on the field at the same time.

Just throw a couple into your Ice decks.

29-032C – Chadley

I’m trying to figure this out. Chadley acts more like a Monster than a Forward. But then again, there are Monsters that act more like a Forward than a Monster.

Chadley has one job, and since he can’t attack or block, that’s all he gets to do.

Every other turn, Chadley will give one of your Forwards +3000 power.

You will be able to use that ability as long as Chadley has a Research Counter on him. If not, then you can just dull Chadley to give him a Research Counter.

29-033L – Terra

As much as I want to say that I like this card, I can’t.

I was never one for a Summon deck. I hardly have any Summons in any of my decks for that matter. And Terra here, looks like she needs to be in a Summon heavy deck.

Terra comes in and you an search for a Summon, chuck it into the Break Zone, and then you can choose 2 Characters. Dull/Freeze them.

And then you can put Terra into the Break Zone, and play a Summon that costs 5CP or less for free. Well, technically it’s not free. You’re paying 3CP to use that ability, and you’re getting rid of Terra in the process.

I’ll pass.

29-034C – Tyro EX

And, here I thought they were going to make up for banning Opus XI Tyro.

This time we get Tyro in Ice, and he doesn’t do a lot, but he can grab and Ice Character when he enters the field. And, that’s only if there is an Ice Character in the top 4 cards of your deck.

Other than that this Tyro is just a Backup. that will generate you 1CP per turn.

His ability also comes off of an EX Burst, so that might mean something.

.

29-035H – Torgal

This isn’t a Wolf, it’s a sacrificial lamb. That both Clive and Jill will use. Now I haven’t played FFXVI yet, but I think this might be part of the story. Don’t tell me if I’m right or wrong.

Anyways, back to the point. Torgal is a .. you guessed it .. a Free Play! As long as you have Clive or Jill on the field.

All Summons and abilities must choose Torgal, and when he is sent to the Break Zone, your opponent will discard a card.

Plus, Torgal will also act as a Meat Shield. that’s why Torgal is a Forward.

29-036C/15-038C – Knight

“Knight comes in, hands you a Crystal

Next turn, Knight Dulls himself and puts himself into the Break Zone dulling a 3 cost Forward.

Thus concludes the story of Knight”

.

.

29-037C – MAI

Where was this card when Relm was running on a rampage?

MAI is ready to get rid of those pesky Monsters. At least one of them.

And, at 2CP, this card is a definite yes in your deck, especially if you’re constantly running against Monster decks.

MAI, will break a Monster or return it to it’s owner’s hand.

All you need is a way to either break MAI, or find a way to bounce her off and on the field.

29-038H – Mog (VI)

Mog (VI) is the perfect card to play with Celes. Mog will come right in and Break a dull Forward. And when that Forward hits the Break Zone, Mog will draw you a card.

And all this for a Free Play on Mog’s part.

Mog also comes in with a 8K body, meaning he’ll be a little bit of a problem for your opponent. But, you might actually want to send Mog to the Break Zone. That way you’ll be able to play him again, and break one of your opponent’s dull Forwards once again.

Gunslingers on Ice

26-021C – Anabella

The Duchess of Priming.

Yeah, I don’t know much of Final Fantasy XVI, but I do know something about Prime.
No, not the drink. I have no clue about that.

Anabella will dull and Freeze a Character, whenever one of your Characters decides to Prime into an Eikon.

You can do much worse for 2CP.

Prime as much as you’d like, and have Anabella dell and Freeze everyone. One Character at a time.

26-022C – Undead Princess

Looking at this card makes me want to play World of Final Fantasy. Just by having an Undead Princess on the equivalent of Medieval Magitek Armor.

Let’s get to the card.

Undead Princess comes in for 3CP, and when she comes in you gain a Crystal and your opponent discards a card.

Simple, and straight to the point.

And when it’s all done, you have a body with 7000 power to attack or block, cause you’ll want to get rid of this card so you can play it again.

26-023C – Wol

Wol on Ice. That’s a first.

Coming in at 5CP, Wol’s cost can come down by 2CP if your opponent discarded a card this turn due to your playing.

3CP is better than 5CP and 9000 power is a great body on the field.

Wol isn’t done. Not this time.

Whenever he attacks, you can discard 2 cards and break a Forward. It’s like having a Summon ready to go. Those 2 cards is the equivalent to 4CP. Odin from Opus I costs 7CP. And, you can use Wol’s ability once per turn.

Nothing else needs to be said.

26-024C – Musician

This Musician packs some Fire … er … Ice Power.

For 2CP you can deal damage to a dull Forward, once per turn. All you need is some ammo, and that ammo comes in the form of cards.

Once per turn you will be able to dull Musician and pay the cost of discarding one card. Then you can choose a dull Forward and deal it 5000 damage.

If you’re playing Ice/Lightning and you discard a Lightning card, that damage become 7000.

It’s a decent Backup, that when Musician is not in use, he will give you 1CP per turn.

26-025C – Kadaj EX

Even as a Common, Kadaj will be hard to get rid of.

For 3CP you get a body with 9000 power. And, at the end of each of your turns you will remove Kadaj from the game. He won’t be gone for long though as at the end of your opponent’s turn Kadaj will come back to the field.

Kadaj won’t shine until you have at least 3 points of damage, cause when you do have those 3 points of damage, Kadaj will dull one of your opponent’s Forwards. And, since Kadaj returns at the end of your opponent’s turn, that Forward will be dull during your turn.

And this cycle will keep on going on and on.

This Kadaj is a lite version of Opus XI Kadaj.

26-026R – Kuja

You know you always wanted to swap out your Backups. Kuja is here to help you with that.

When Kuja enters the field you can remove one of your Ice Backups from the game. There he helped you and now you can play the new Backup that you wanted cause you didn’t have space for it.

Oh wait, we’re not even done with the first part. When you do remove that Backup, your opponent will discard 2 cards from their hand.

At 5CP, this isn’t a bad play as you’ll be taking away your opponent’s Fire Power, and Kuja has 9000 power. Your opponent will think twice before they try and break Kuja, cause when they choose Kuja with one of their abilities or Summons, they will need to discard a card from their hand.

I’m on the fence about this one. Cause after his first ability goes off, there is no need for your opponent to try and get rid of him, as he’s just another body on the field. Well there is a need, but it won’t be the first course of action.

26-027R – Kujata

Cash or Credit?

How do you want to pay for Kujata?

There’s 2 ways to pay and the result will be the same.

Kujata will break a dull Forward, and that’s about it.

You can either pay 3CP for this, or just dull 2 active Forwards. This means that you can throw Kujata in any deck and you’ll be able to pay for it, without having any Ice CP to spend.

26-028C – Cripshay

The Ice Monster of Gunslinger in the Abyss. Almost sounds like a title.

Cripshay becomes a Forward with 7000 power. And, First Strike.

If, and when Cripshay deals damage to your opponent, you will send Cripshay into the Break Zone, and your opponent will discard 2 cards.

They just might think twice before taking that damage, just so they don’t discard the 2 cards they have in their hand.

But, are those 2 cards worth more than the Forward that will be broken by Cripshay’s 7000 power?

That’s a decision they’ll have to make in the heat of the battle.

26-029R – Shiva (XVI)

Shiva is a great card to play all by herself.

Let’s see what Jill does.

26-030C .- Cid (WoFF)

A What now?

Yes that what is with a capitol W.

Every time your opponent uses an EX Burst they’ll discard a card?

Cid just sticks around and waits for your opponent to use an EX Burst, other then that, he’ll just sit back and give you 1CP per turn. That’s not bad at all.

I like the art on these WoFF cards. If you noticed it, we’ve been getting them since Resurgence of Power.

26-031H – Cid Raines

Great card, Great art. What more can you ask for?

If you’re playing a discard deck, Cid Raines is your man.

He will come in for Free, if your opponent discarded a card on the same turn that you want to play Cid.

You’ll want to keep Cid around to thwart your opponent’s plans. When your opponent plays a Forward onto the field from anywhere except their hand, Cid will take that Forward and send it to the Break Zone.

Yes, you do have to sacrifice Cid Raines for this move, but it is a move well worth it.

26-032L – Charlotte

Charlotte is ready to wreck your opponent’s plans. As long as Charlotte is on the field. Your opponent will be 2 steps behind. The only draw back we have here, is that Charlotte costs 5CP, and you can only use Ice CP to pay for her. And that’s not even that big of a deal. You would gladly pay a couple more CP to get Charlotte on the field.

For one she has a little bit of protection going for her. When ever she is chosen by your opponent’s Summons or abilities, your opponent must discard a card, or else that Summon or that ability will be canceled. It’s going to be hard to get rid of Charlotte.

Now, let’s take a look at that final sentence. “When a Character enters your opponent’s field, dull it and Freeze it.”

Your opponent will not be able to use that Character for another turn. That’s 2 turns from when it enters the field. No Blocks, no abilities no nothing. Just a sitting duck. Or a deer caught in the headlights.

You’ll be having some fun with Charlotte here.

26-033C – Summoner

Here we go a decent Backup that will allow you to grab and Ice Summon from the Break Zone and add it to your hand.

This will bring Summoner’s cost down to 1CP, which is even better.

Summoner also has an ability where you can put him in the Break Zone, and your next Summon’s cost will be reduced by 2CP. Mathematically, you’re gaining 1CP by playing Summoner and using his ability.

That’s about it.

26-034L – Jill

Jill has been upgraded to a Legend this time.

When Jill enters the field, and depending on how many Eikons you have removed from the game or in your Break Zone, you will select that many Characters that your opponent controls and you will dull them.

After that Jill will Prime into Shiva and you will Freeze all of your opponent’s Characters.
And, that’s not all.

No, At the begining of your Attack Phase, and at the begining of your opponent’s Attack Phase, Jill will break a dull Forward.

You’ll slowly be able to take down your opponent’s front line, cause you know that they’ll have a dull Forward hanging out. And, if they don’t, you can always bring in Amon 2-098L to dull a Forward once per turn.

26-035R – Snow

Snow is ready for a fight.

And when he enters, the field you can either draw a card, or have your opponent discard a card.

If Snow is brought in by an ability from a Final Fantasy XIII Character you can do both.
Luckily Lightning is ready to cause havok, as she can tag in any Final Fantasy XIII Forward and form a party to attack. In other words perform a tag team maneuver.

You won’t even need Ice CP, just Snow and Lightning. It’s called Thunder Snow.

26-036C/15-038C – Knight

Here’s a reprint, of a reprint, of a reprint.

So, we’re just going to, you guessed it, Copy/Paste from Opus XV Crystal Dominion.

“Knight comes in, hands you a Crystal

Next turn, Knight Dulls himself and puts himself into the Break Zone dulling a 3 cost Forward.

Thus concludes the story of Knight”

26-037H – Halone

Halone will be a card that you’ll play later on in the game, as you’ll need at least Six of “The Twelve” on the field in order for her ability to go off.

Whenever Halone attacks, you get to choose 2 of your opponent’s Characters, and you shall grant them a Dull/Freeze.

Your opponent will also discard a card.

Halone also doubles as a Meat Shield with a 9k body.

26-038H – Physalis

This is a Buy one Get one Free deal!

You can either pay 5CP to play Physalis, or you can Warp her for 2CP. She’ll stay out until the end of your turn. As she on;y has one Warp Counter.

If you paid the 5CP, Physalis is just a Meat Shield.

If you Warp her in, you will be able to play another Forward with Warp from your hand onto the field.

This way you’ll get 2 Meat Shields.

This is a great card, you’ll be able to get a couple bodies on the field quickly and cheaply.

26-039H – Star Sibyl

A four cost Backup that will grant you some protection against your opponent’s abilities.

Not great protection, but just enough to have your opponent second guess the action that they are about to take.

Cause if they choose to target one of your Forwards with an ability, they will need to discard a card. Is that card that they discard worth the extra cost to use the ability? Maybe yes, maybe no.

But, if they don’t have any cards in their hand, they won’t need to discard anything.

26-040R – Menphina

Menphina might be your starting point for “The Twelve”.

When she enters the field you can pay X and search for one of the other Twelve and play it onto the field. No add it to your hand, just straight to the field.

Only drawback is that you need to use CP produced from The Twelve, or discarding The Twelve cards. Which shouldn’t be that hard, considering your deck could have up to 36 The Twelve cards in it. And, if you could use any cards, it would have been to easy.

Menphina can also Freeze one of your opponent’s Forwards with her ability.

Hmm, didn’t we just see a card that can Dull Forwards, or did we just mention Amon (2-098L)?

Cool Singles!

Lumina – Deck

As we take a look at Lumina’s ability it reads, “When Lumina enters the field, you may search for 1 Category XIII Forward and add it to your hand.”

That simply means, we need to fill up this deck with as many FFXIII Forwards that we can. And we do have a lot to choose from. But, we’re going to keep this as Characteristic as possible. We’ll Start off with Lightning and Serah. In the beginning I was trying not to use Lightning (19-138S), but for a deck filled with FFXIII Forwards, you need to use this card. Buffs and draws, and damage.

Serah? We went with Serah (16-032H). Ice Forward, that if played after you have 2 Ice Characters on the field, your opponent discards a card. If you have a XIII Forward you draw a card.

Moving on forward. Noel (19-136S) is our next Forward. Coming in with Haste and a buff for every FFXIII Character you control. Cid Raines (19-135S) is also here. You can tell we’re pretty much using the FFXIII Custom Starter Set for most of it. (If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.) So, we’ll just add Vanille (19-129S), Fang (19-131S), and Snow (19-132S) to round it out.

And, that’s still not enough. Especially cause there’s hardly any Lightning Forwards and Lumina is Lightning. We’ll just roll the dice and grab Lightning (19-082H), Anima (11-099H) and Cid Raines (19-135S), Yes they are all FFXIII Forwards. This way Lightning’s abilities will go off, and so will Serah’s when she enters the field, and also Noel’s. These 3 will be your main attackers.

For Backups, we’ll add Lebreau (5-151S). I usually go for the Opus I Lebreau, but we don’t have enough Fire Forwards to warrant that card. Class Second Moogle (10-016C), to help us with Ice CP. Mog (XIII-2) (1-196S), because he acts just like Lumina and searches for a FFXIII Forward. and Jihl Nabaat (1-193S) cause that still is a great card.

As For Summon, we’re just grabbing Bahamut, because with Fang on the field he becomes a Free Summon. And both Odins for Lightning’s (19-082H) ability.

All in all, this deck is made to get as many Forwards out on the field as fast as possible. After that just keep attacking and attacking, with at least 3 Forwards per turn.

Or something like that.

From Nightmares – Starter Opinions

19-129S – Vanille EX

Search for Lightning. Or Fang. Or Hope, But who wants to search for Hope. Yes, I am still biased on Hope from his character in the first game. He was a child, but he was a spoiled brat. I won’t get in to it here.

3 cost 7K body, with Imperilga which will double the damage dealt to a Forward your opponent controls. And 2000 damage to all of your opponents Forwards, which is technically 4K.

I’m losing track of this card.

19-130S – Bahamut

There are ways to cast Bahamut for Free, and everyone loves free Summons. I know I do. All you need is 3 XIII characters and one of them being Fang.

When Bahamut is cast, deal a Forward 10,000 damage, and if it is broken, remove it from the game instead.

Nuff’ said.

19-131S – Fang

Plenty of things to go through to have Fang deal 2 points of Damage.

Is it worth to go through all of this for that? I believe so.

Fang comes in with Haste, and although you won’t be able to attack twice in a turn. Meaning that Fang won’t attack after she casts Bahamut for free.

But, if your opponent blocks Fang, then you cast Bahamut on that Forward, which in turn will most likely break it, Fang’s attack will go through for 2 point of Damage.

I’ll take 3.

19-132S – Snow

Snow comes in and if Lightning is on the field, Snow grants protection from Summons. to himself and to Lightning.

Now, when Snow enters the field you can either have your opponent discard a card, or if you have his fiance on the field you can dull and Freeze 3 of your opponents Characters.

Freeze those Backups, so they can’t reproduce.

19-133S – Serah EX

Let’s search for Mog (XIII-2).

Just the new one that costs 1CP.

And, if you play that Mog, or any moogle, you get to activate or dull 2 Characters.

And with Froststrike, you get to deal a Forward 8000 damage. And, if you play a Moogle after that, and have an extra Serah in your hand. You get to recast Froststrike.

19-134S – Mog (XIII-2)

Look at the grin on his face. And, those teeth. Razor Sharp.

But, he’s just a Moogle, and he does grant Serah protection from Summons and abilities. For the low cost of 1CP you have a terrible blocker, but that’s OK. You don’t need much power to block an attack.

Plus, Mog also gives a XIII Forward +2K power.

19-135S – Cid Raines

High cost Forward, but has same bite to it.

Considering Cid Raines is a L’Cie, that isn’t much of a surprise.

Cid Raines shall come in and break one of your opponents Forwards.

And the more points of damage you receive, Cid becomes even more powerful. At 3 points Cid gains +1000 power and First Strike.

His true power comes out, when you have your back against the wall. Every time Cid Raines attacks, you get to choose a Forward your opponent controls, and send it broken down to the Break Zone.

19-136S – Noel

This is a nice card. 2CP comes in with Haste, and depending on how many XIII Characters you have on the field, Noel gains that much power, X 1000.

Just a simple Forward, but every time one of your opponents Forward’s leaves the field, you get to dull another one of their Forwards. Which is good, in that you will either slow down their attacks, or leave them open for yours.

19-137S – Hope

Well, this Hope is pretty decent. Especially if you’re playing a XIII themed deck, and if you aren’t, you wouldn’t be playing this.

Hope comes in and either searches for a XIII Forward or deals damage to one of your opponents Forwards. How much damage? Depends on how many XIII Characters you control.

I do see this XIII deck coming out strong. And, this might be the first Hope card I like.

19-138S – Lightning

Such a great card. comes in with Haste, and all these abilities that come into play when Category XIII Forwards attack.
If 1 attacks, all your Forwards gain +1000 power.

If 2 attack, you draw 1 card.

And, if 3 attack, you deal your opponent 1 point of damage.

Plus Lightning comes in with Haste, so you can use these abilities right away.

It’s a good addition to any deck, if you ask me. And, if you don’t, it still is.

Crystal Dominion – Ice Review

15-022C – Amidatelion

Time to Ice your opponent.

Got yourself a way to remove some buffs. More specifically Haste, Brave and First Strike.

You can play Ice/Earth and have Robel-Akbel recycle Amidatelion.

15-023R – Werei

Werei is here, to draw you a card at the end of each of your turns.

Stick him in a discard deck.

15-024R – Orphan EX

Orphan here is a one man show, even though he is a Rare. For 5CP you can dull 1 Forward at the beginning of each of your Attack Phases. Hopefully your opponent won’t be playing Feolthanos (10-098L).

A good card to play with Orphan, you ask?

Physalis (13-028L), along with all the other Discard cards you might have available in your possession.

15-025C – Scholar

Cast a Summon

Dull Scholar.

Dull a Forward.

In that order.

15-026C – Kazusa

Just because, Orphan and Kazusa come from the same “Universe” per se, doesn’t mean that they will play well together.
But, they do.

Imagine being able to break a Forward, just because Orphan will be causing your opponent to discard a card at every Attack Phase.

After that 1(I)CP and dull Kazusa, throw him in the Break Zone, and Break one of your opponents Forwards.

15-027R – The Emperor

Is there a never ending recycle loop here with the Emperor?

Considering there are 8 The Emperor cards, including this one. You will be able to play Emperors left and right, discard them, revive them, break, search and destroy to bring back The Emperor from the Break Zone.

I lost myself there. It’s all a blur.

All I know is that you will be able to have 24 The Emperors in your deck. Where most of them can interact with each other when they hit the Break Zone.

15-028H – Gogo

I think Gogo will be interesting to play. Doubling down on some abilities by any Forward or Monster. I’d say the only drawback is that you can only use that ability once per turn. I’m sure there will be ways around that, but even so, It’s still a great ability

Gogo, will fit right at home in a FFVI themed deck.

And Mimic, allows you to use another Characters Special ability.

Physalis, I’m looking at you.

15-029R – Zalera

Cheap Summon, for a great Break.

Only thing is the Forward you chose needs to be dull already. Not a problem. Once that Forward attacks, it dulls itself, thus allowing you to use Zalera as you see fit.

But, then again this card is just a reprint. We should already know that.

15-030H – Shiva EX

The Ice version of Ifrita.

The more Shivas in your Break Zone the stronger this Summon gets.

0-1 Dull 1 Forward
2-3 Dull 2 Forwards
4-5 Freeze the dulled Forwards
6 or more, Your opponent discard 2 cards from their hand.

All this for 1 CP.

15-031C – Shiva

Choose one of two. Deal 9K damage to a dull Forward, or give all your Ice Forwards +3K.

Depending on th Situation. You can probably always figure out which one to use. But, the +3K sounds real good. At least for now.

All this for as little as 1CP. If you’re carrying a Crystal that is.

15-032C – Cid Raines

You usually try and keep your Forwards alive, but Cid Raines here, is definitely a blocker.Just keep him on the field. Till he blocks everything he can, and then … you’ll realize you should just be attacking. That way he’ll either be dealing your opponent Damage, breaking Forwards, or worse case scenario. Cid Raines will be broken and sent to the Break Zone. And then your opponent will discard a card from their hand.

15-033C – Jumbo Flan

Jumbo Flan here has 2 Jobs.

1) Dull and Freeze a Forward.
2) Become a Forward in itself, and strike fast.

Doesn’t matter if Jumbo Flan deals damage or not, because once you turn Jumbo Flan into a Forward, he will Break at the end of the turn.

15-034R – Snow

We’re getting more than just flurries, here.

Pay a Crystal and either Freeze all the Forwards, or Freeze all the Backups.

Or Bounce Snow with Rinoa, pay an extra Crystal, and Freeze all the Forwards and Backups.

15-035H – Setzer

With Setzer you’re gambling with the odds on your side. 8 out of 10 times you’ll grab a Character from the top spot of your deck.

Other than that, Setzer will most likely be giving you Crystals at the end of your turn.

15-036H – Celes

This is a great looking card. There better be a Full Art Version.

The Rune Knight Celes has a thing for Locke, as she allows you to search for him when she enters the field. But, if you already have Locke in your hand you’ll just make your opponent discard a card from there hand.

Celes knows all about parties. And when FFVI Forwards form a Party and attack. You can either Freeze 2 Characters, or Find a Category VI Character in your Break Zone.

That Character will be Locke. Any Locke will do, as you’ll already have Locke (4-048L), and using his Special Ability will allow you to slowly chip away at your opponent.

15-037L – Terra

Some more great artwork.

Playing a Summon heavy deck? Terra is the card for you. You might be able to Dull and Freeze your opponents whole board. Might.

But, even if you just dull and Freeze the main pieces of your opponents board, you’ll still be in a good position.

And whenever you cast a summon Dull 1, Freeze 1. 1 Forward, one Backup. Choose and pick.

15-038C – Knight

Knight comes in, hands you a Crystal

Next turn, Knight Dulls himself and puts himself into the Break Zone dulling a 3 cost Forward.

Thus concludes the story of Knight

15-039C – Mime

It’ll be fun playing with Mime as his Power will change every time another Forward comes in. From the high powered forwards, to the 1000 power. But, it won’t really matter as long as Mime will be able to block a Forward. Does it really matter how much power Mime has?

15-040C – Larzos

Hmm, I don’t know. 5CP to Freeze Forward, but it’ll leave you with a 9K body on the field.

When he’s tossed into the Break Zone, you’ll get a Crystal for your troubles.

Larzos is just a common, which is probably why he costs 5CP.

In my opinion, I think there are better options, and worse ones as well.

Now prove me wrong as to why you should play Larzos.

15-041L – Lightning

Now this is an interesting card.

For optimum results you’ll want your opponents hand to have 0 cards. and the less cards you have Lightning is even stronger.

1CP/10K body with Haste.

That is what you’re looking at.

There are plenty of cards this set, that’ll help you achieve that

Orphan, Shiva (15-030H), Cid Raines, Celes, and Gogo for when you’re using these abilities. Not to mention cards from previous sets, but you should have a very good chance at achieving no cards in your opponents hand before you play Lightning.

15-042R – Locke EX

This card might …. No, he won’t replace Opus IV Locke, but you might want to throw in a couple if you’re running a FFVI themes deck.

Think about it. Play a VI card. reveal the top card it’s a VI card add it to your hand. Play that VI Card and grab the next VI card. It might work. FFVI themed deck is already a strong deck in my opinion.
