Krile’s Splinter

Krile, your Backup Warrior of Light. Taking Galuf’s spot on the team and she does a good job at it. We’re actually going to use 2 Kriles in this deck. Krile (7-068H) and Krile (18-055R). Both of these Kriles work around Summons, and the Resurgence of Power Krile also allows you to grab a FFV Forward from your Break Zone. Thus bringing us to the next Character, Galuf.

You know we had to bring in her Grandfather. And, we are going with Galuf (12-056H), any Forward that has the ability to attack twice in one turn, especially with +10K power, is a go. And when he is sent into the Break Zone, you can search for a 2 cost Earth Forward and play it onto the field.

Next we’ll add Kolka (7-069C) and Tyro (11-072R). Both are Backups and both allow us to search for Krile, or Galuf if Krile is already on the field. And since Tyro allows us to produce CP of a different Element, we will add in the rest of the Warriors of Light.

Bartz (7-059L), cause this is a great card that can attack up to 3 times. You’ll just need some extra Bartzes on hand in order to do so. 3 to be exact. So we’ll just go ahead and add Bartz (19-048C) Because he is easy to recycle back into your deck. And any other Bartz you like, we’ll go with Bartz (12-052H).

Lenna (12-109L), just help us grab a Forward from the Break Zone and play it onto the field. And, Faris to help us grab a FFV Character from the top of your deck when she enters the field. If Lenna is on the field, Faris gains +2000 power.

Ghido (3-131H)? What? Who plays Ghido? Well, Ghido can contact Krile telepathically and that is why he is in here. Ghido is a little bit of a Backup plan that can return high cost Forwards to their owner’s deck.

If we take a look back at Galuf’s ability of searching for an Earth Forward, we are grabbing Ewen (17-080R) and Aerith (16-067L).
We need some more Backups. Let’s get some protection here. Cait Sith (XIV) (6-072C) and Layle (8-088C), both of these cards will protect us from Summons.

Summons are next. We’re bringing in Syldra (3-035H) as it is the only FFV Summon that we have, and it does a pretty decent job so, we’ll keep it.

Fenrir (19-064R), because everyone likes free cards. And Titan (17-070R) to give everyone a 5K boost.

And we’ll grab Objet d’Art (12-064C) which can turn into a Forward, or give all your Forwards +2K and Brave.

Dawn of Heroes – Lite Bright

20-127L – Shinryu

Where to start off?

5CP/9000 Power.

Shinryu can be cast technically for free if your opponent controls 3 more Forwards than you do. You’ll pay 2CP, and search for a card. Any card that you’d like.

Coming in with Brave, Shinryu will block almost any attack you throw it him.

And, just take a look at Tidal Wave.

You can cast it during your turn and Wipe Out your opponents Forwards in one simple play. Unless your opponents knows how to surf, they’ll be feeling it for a while.

20-128H – Materia

How many Light Characters do you need?

With Materia you can add as many as you’d like, and still be able to play them all on the field. No, we’re not reinventing the wheel, as this has been done since Opus I.

Materia enters the field and you gain a Crystal.

And with that Crystal, you can grab a Forward from the top 4 cards of your deck. If there’s no Forwards, you are out of luck.
With Materia’s second ability, you can exchange CP for Crystals.

So, if you’re running low, you know where to find them.

Materia is like your local drug dealer, she’ll give you the first Crystal for free, and then charge you, cause she knows you’ll need them.

20-129H – Spiritus

Almost the same as Materia.

Spiritus is working with Crystals, but he does things a little different.

Spiritus will give you a Crystal each turn, as long as you spend at least 2 Crystals each turn. You can always use 1 Crystal to give a Forward +5K Power.

And, with Spiritus on the field, you can play as many Dark Characters onto the field as you’d like.

I really should play Dissidia to figure out what’s going on. I just got easily bored with it.

20-130L – Zenos

I’m having a hard time trying to figure this out.

Let’s start from the top.

Zenos can be played from the Break Zone, but when he comes in from the Break Zone, Zenos will be removed from the game at the end of the turn.

When Zenos comes in you choose 1 Forward of 3 or less and Break it.

When it is put into the Break Zone. This is the part I don’t get. Are we talking about Zenos, or the card that we choose to Break?

I believe it is the Forward you choose to Break, but why would they even mention the card being sent to the Break Zone. (Mind you, this was written in April, when it was first announced.) It might have changed now.

Anyways, whichever card it is, it hits the Break Zone, and then your opponent either discards a card, or Zenos gains Haste.
At least the card looks good, we’ll figure out the rest later.

Fusoya – Card Analysis

Now that we have more than one card, we’re going to look at all of them. Starting off with Opus II.

Fusoya (2-116R)

“When Fusoya enters the field, choose 1 Forward opponent controls. Deal it 5000 damage

When Fusoya is put from the field into the Break Zone, choose 1 Forward from your Break Zone. Add it to your hand.”

3CP to deal 5000 damage to one Forward. Not bad for 3CP, there are some Summons that do less, for more CP.

Now if you’re able to find a way to send him to the Break Zone you’ll be able to grab one of your Forwards from your Break Zone as well.

Just leave him on the field to produce CP until you send him to the Break Zone to grab that Forward that you need.

Fusoya (2-146H)

“(D) : Choose 1 Forward. Deal it 7000 damage. Fusoya deals you 1 point of damage.”

A Light Backup here.

And I can see why this Fusoya has never really been used.

Sure, he only costs 3 CP, but to use his ability to deal 7000 damage to a Forward in exchange for a point of damage, doesn’t seem like a great deal to me.

There are better cards to use with similar effects.

Unless you’re trying to rack up those Points of Damage, leave this one at home.

But, I do like the artwork.

Fusoya (9-094L)

“The cost required to cast your Summons can be paid with CP of any Element.

When Fusoya enters the field, choose 1 Forward opponent controls. Reveal the top 2 cards of your deck. Deal it 1000 damage for each CP required to play the revealed cards. Add all the revealed cards to your hand.”

7CP to play this Lunarian. I’d say it;s a good deal, because once he comes in you’ll grab the top 2 cards of your deck and add them to your hand. Making Fusoya a 3 cost.

Not only that, but when he does come in you choose a Forward, and the combined CP of the 2 cards you just grab will deal it x000 damage. The x being the combined amount of both cards.

It’s like Opus II Fusoya but better, it can be 5000, it can be 2000 or it can be 20000 depending on what you have in your deck.

Fusoya (16-119H)

“When Fusoya enters the field, select the following actions from top to bottom up to the same number of Elements other than Water as the cost you paid to cast Fusoya.

“Draw 1 card.”

“Choose 1 Summon in your Break Zone. Add it to your hand.”

Choose 1 Character opponent controls, Return it to it’s owner’s hand”

Choose 1 Forward. Put it on top of it’s owner’s deck.”

Let’s see what we wrote when Emissaries of Light came out.

“A Five color deck?

It can work. You already have Soiree going all out this set.

Just add Fusoya to the mix, and you’ll probably choose up to 4 abilities to cast.”

And we’re going to keep it like that. Is Soiree still a thing?

If not you can always add Fusoya to a Warrior of Light deck.

Fusoya (20-100R)

“EX Burst When Fusoya enters the field, if you have 2 or more Summons in your Break Zone, draw 1 card.

When Fusoya attacks, you may cast 1 Summon of cost 2 or less from your hand without paying the cost.”

Well one thing is for sure.

If you’re playing this card, you’ll have a whole bunch of 1CP and 2CP Summons in your deck. Just so you can spam them whenever you have Fusoya attack.

Isn’t there an Emissaries of Light Braska with an S ability that you can use a Summon instead of Braska?

I think these 2 will go well together.

Dissidia Collection

I just realized that the Dissidia Anniversary Collection is the Starter Set for Beyond Destiny. This whole time I thought that this was going to be just like the previous collection. But it is not. It’s just a Custom Starter Set, with an added 20 cards or so.

Yes, we haven’t seen any of the cards yet, but they did give us the numbers for the cards. And, they all start with 21.

21-036H – Y’shtola

I wonder if it’s going to be a different kind of Foil, like they mentioned that Estinien would be?

Is this going to be a new way that Square Enix will be doing the Starter Sets, or will it be a one off? Maybe, a once a year Premium Set.

I do like that, the cards that they are reprinting in this collection, aren’t just reprints, but they are getting new artwork as well. Probably won’t cut into the prices of the original cards by that much.

And, the storage box is always nice. I mean who doesn’t need more storage to hold their cards? I know I do. I got cards lying around everywhere, but that’s a different story all together.

From Nightmares – The Shadow Figures?

19-103H – Tidus EX

Tidus looks mad, that Yuna didn’t get the same art treatment by Amano this set.

As a card he seems pretty decent. For 4CP you can send a Forward back to your opponent’s deck. At the very bottom of the deck that is. Which is a decent way to get some reprieve from that Forward.

And as long as you have 20 cards in your Break Zone, you can play Tidus onto the field straight from the Break Zone.

You’ll be able to play Tidus,return a Forward, attack or block, and then replay Tidus from the Break Zone to send another Forward back to the bottom of the deck.

It sounds good in my head, let’s see if it plays out.

19-104H – Madeen

Very cheap Summon to play. And it’s a good one. At least I like it. You might not, but this is my opinion.

For 1 whole Crystal Point, you can remove a Forward from the game.

Although you’ll need a Light Forward on the field to cast it, it still is a good card to have in your deck if you do have a Light Forward. If you don’t, then there is no reason to play this card.

 

19-105H – Ark

Free Summon?

You guessed it.

But, you do need to have a 9CP Dark Forward on the field for Ark to be cast for Free. And there are 3 Dark Forwards you can choose from. Nidhogg and Sin x2.

Once you play Ark, you can Break one of your opponent’s Forwards, and that’s not all, they’ll also discard 2 cards from their hand.

That’s what I call a double attack. They won’t know where to run to.

19-106H – Sin

Plenty, and I mean Plenty of Free cards this set.

Of course they all need some requirements to be played for free, but they’re still free.

Sin is free when you have received 6 points of damage. At that point he comes in and since you have 6 points of damage, your opponent will select 3 Forwards or Backups or a combination of the 2 to be sent to the Break Zone.

If Sin is broken, he is removed from the game.

This is your final desperation play. You can probably keep 3 on hand for the end of the game. And if that doesn’t work, well you’re out of luck. You can probably pair Sin with Opus I Tidus for some “Back Against the Wall Shenanigans.”
