Gunslinger in the Earth

Shop for these Singles and more at our TCG Player Store!

20-061H – Ajido-Marujido

I don’t know how playable this card is.

You need at least 3 elements to get the first ability to go off, and 5 elements for the second ability. Granted if you do pay with 5 elements, both of Ajido-Marujidos abilities will go off.
Now, what do these abilities do?

The first one breaks one of your opponent’s Forwards, while the second one removes one of your opponent’s Forwards from the game.

You likely won’t be able to get the full effect of this card until late in the game, but if you do, you’ll be getting rid of 2 of your opponent’s Forwards leaving a whole in their front line.

Hopefully this will be the card that hands you the game.

If not, then there are plenty of other cards available to use.

20-062R – Apururu

Does anyone actually play a Final Fantasy XI themed deck?

If so what is it? Apururu here might be able to help you out as Apururu will produce CP of any element when paying for a Final Fantasy XI card.

And, at 2CP it’s worth throwing it in your deck.

Why is it that Earth has the most cards that can produce CP of any Element?

I don’t know if Apururu knows the answer, but he might be a decent play.

20-063R -Althyk EX

Why does Althyk look like Odin?

“Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental”

Althyk enters the field, and if you have at least 4 of “The Twelve” on the field, Althyk will deal one of your opponent’s Forwards 9000 damage, giving you a good chance at breaking that Forward.

And, what does Odin do? Odin breaks them. Well most of the time.

Did we mention this also comes off of an EX Burst?

20-064R – Ignis

Ignis is a Wild Card.

His ability is only as good as the Forwards that you already have on the field.

Once Ignis enters the field, you’ll dull 2 Forwards and deal another Forward damage equal to the power of the other 2 Forwards that you dulled.

It’s a mix and match game.

Do you have enough power to take down that 9000 power body that your opponent has on the field? Have Ignis take him down. If not just hold on to Ignis until you do.

Ignis also gains +2000 power when you have 3 points of damage.

20-065L – Vanille

At 1CP what’s not to like about Vanille.

The art? It’s great. The 4000 power? That’s perfect for her ability.

Vanille works great as a defender. She will block any attack, and if she is sent to the Break Zone, you can then remove her from the game, and Vanille will allow you to grab a Final Fantasy XIII Forward from your Break Zone.

And, if that’s not enough. Once per turn Vanille will look at the top card of your deck, and if it is a Final Fantasy XIII card, you will add that card to your hand.

Like I said, what’s not to like?

20-066L – Vincent

The Gunslinger, Vincent, ready to wreak havoc on you opponent.

Vincent comes in and right from the get go, he will destroy all of your opponent’s Forwards that cost 3CP or less. 99.99% of the time, those Forwards will be sent to the Break Zone. And, I only said 99.99% because we might get a 3 cost Forward with more then 10K. There are plenty of 9K Forwards, and those might make it out alive if you have a card like Maria (1-083H) on the field, who will give all your Forwards +1000 power.

Vincent will also deal 9000 damage to a Forward that targets him with it’s ability.
And, when Vincent is chosen by your opponent’s Summon, Vincent will choose one of your opponent’s Forwards and deal them 9000 damage as well.

If you get this at Prerelease or in draft, you better come out the winner.

Let’s not forget, Vincent also has First Strike!

20-067H – Eiko

If you’ve been wondering why we’ve been getting all these Summons with Eiko on them, we now have your answer.

Not really, but it sounded good.

Eiko will come in and you can grab 4 Summons from your Break Zone and put them on top of your deck. You may now shuffle your deck and reveal the top 4 cards. If you find a Summon, you can cast it without paying the cost.

The rest of the cards are sent into the Break Zone.

You might get a great play, but then again you might lose 3 of the cards that you need. It’s risk vs. reward here.

Eiko then sticks around as a Forward with 5000 power.

20-068C – Gladiator

I think they’re running out of Standard Units. I’ll have to check to make sure, but they introduced an old game, just to use the Jobs.

I don’t mind it, I’m just saying what it looks like to me. I think it’s time to bring the 8bit sprites for cards.

Oh wait. We’re supposed to be talking about Gladiator.

Gladiator is a Backup, that can give one of your Forwards +1000 power until the end of the turn. You’ll need to discard a card for this ability.

And, if the card you discard is a Fire card, then that Forward gains +3000 power.

And, that’s about it.

Now, where are those 8bit cards?

20-069C – BeastMaster

Do you feel lucky?

Play Beastmaster, and when you reveal the top 3 cards of your deck, and if you find a Monster that costs 2CP or less, you can play it on to the field. If not all 3 cards go to the bottom of your deck.

You can also put Beastmaster in the Break Zone and give one of your Monster Forwards +4000 power.

It’s a gamble that will cost you 3CP.

20-070H – Zangan

Zangan makes an appearance after being on hiatus since Opus I. Maybe that’s why he looks angry.

And this one is worth playing.

First off, Zangan will allow you to play a Tifa from your hand onto the field. Tifa’s cost can be no more than 5CP. This allows you to play any TIfa so far, except for the Rebellion’s Call Tifa which costs 6CP.

This would make Zangan a good play all in itself, as you will get 2 cards for the price of one.

But, that is definitely not all that Zangan can do. Zangan allows himself and Tifa to use abilities that dull in the same turn as they come in.

And, Zangan does have an ability as such, when you use it, you will deal 5000 damage to a Forward for each Martial Artist that you have. It will usually be Zangan and Tifa on the field. But, there is also Dadaluma and a Snow card that is a Martial Artist as well. Not to mention Opus I Bartz, who has all the jobs.

A new tribal deck has emerged, and is in the process of being complete.

20-071C – Sheiran

What am I missing?

I don’t remember Sheiran in Final Fantasy VII, unless they just named him in the Remake.
Sheiran enters the field and grabs a Final Fantasy VII Character from the Break Zone. And, if it’s Tifa, her cost is reduced by 3CP.

Was he the doctor that helped Cloud, or was that just nurses? I can’t remember. I just remember Cloud in a wheel chair.

It took me a second to realize that yes, Sheiran grabs a Final Fantasy VII Character from the Break Zone. And, grabbing cards from the Break Zone is always great.

This is why first opinions should always be double checked.

20-072R – Titan

Big Boss Man Titan.

He’s more like a manager.

When you cast Titan, you’ll give one of your Forwards +2000 power, and that Forward will deal damage to one of your opponent’s Forwards that you will choose.

We’ve seen this before, plenty of times. The only difference with this Titan is that you can dull 2 Earth Forwards instead of paying 3CP.

20-073C – Dyne

The other man with a machine gun hand.

Dyne comes in for 6CP, and you’re going to want to pay for him with cards from your hand.

Why?

Because the more cards you discard to pay for Dyne, the stronger his attack is.
4000 for each card you discard, bringing it up to a total of 12,000 damage to a Forward.

And, after that attack is done, you have a 9K body on the field. Ready to attack or block.

20-074C – Tama

Tama comes in and you have a decision to make.

Would you like to gain a Crystal?

Or would you like to grab a World of Final Fantasy Character from the Break Zone?
Either way you’re getting something.

Luckily we got Geomancer in this set, and you’ll be ready to use that second ability to grab from your Break Zone.

20-075C – Dio

Here’s your “Rainbow in the Park”

Sort of looks like Dio too, if you take away the mustache, and make him shorter. And less buff.

The Park Director is ready to manhandle your opponent, one Forward at a time. Cause when Dio blocks, or gets blocked he gains +3000 power, add in Enna Kros and that’s another +1000 power, and Maria as we mentioned earlier with Vincent, that brings Dio up to +5000 power.

That’s a lot of power.

And, when you have that 12,000 power on Dio, you can choose which Forward will block Dio. Allowing you to slowly take apart your opponent’s front line.

I think Dio along with Vincent will be fun to play with. Not against.

20-076H – Tifa

Are you ready for another 3 Card Trick?

Tifa, Zangan and Cloud, is all you’ll need. Doesn’t matter which Cloud as long as you have Zangan. The only Zangan that we have as of now. Maybe we’ll get another one this set, but I haven’t seen any yet. (Edit : I did, but I already wrote this one)

Zangan will come in and he will search for Tifa. Tifa will get Haste because Zangan is on the field. Since Tifa has Haste, you can go ahead and use her S ability. You can discard any card, because Zangan is on the field. Deal 8000 damage to one of your opponent’s Forwards, and since Cloud is on the field you will Activate Tifa. Rinse and Repeat, until you run out of cards in your hand, or Forwards to target.

Final Fantasy VII will be fun to play once again.

20-077R – Noctis

Noctis is thinking of a plan. How do I get back our fallen comrades?

And, he has figured it out.

When Noctis comes on to the field, he will search for a Final Fantasy XV Character and he will place it on top of your deck.

Now, that doesn’t help much, but if you have received 3 points of damage, Noctis’s second ability comes into play, which states When Noctis enters the field, draw a card. Technically speaking, Noctis grabs a Final Fantasy XV Character from the Break Zone and adds it to your hand.

After that, Noctis is a Meat Shield that will block an attack, and once he enters the Break Zone, you can play him once again.
Extra points if you grab Noctis and repeat, over and over for a blocker that can never be stopped.

It’s like casting Reraise.

20-078C – Nophica

Here we go!

Nophica is able to grab a couple of “The Twelve” from the Break Zone. One on her way in, and one on her way out.

At 4CP this can potentially be a Free Play, and if you play your cards right, it will be a Free Play.

With 8000 power, your opponent will have a little bit of a struggle trying to deal with her, and when they finally do, you can just put Nophica into the Break Zone, to grab the other “The Twelve” member.

The only thing that would make this card better is, if Nophica was able to grab herself from the Break Zone. But, then Nophica would have been more than a Rare.

20-079C-15-080C – Geomancer

Here’s a reprint, of a reprint, of a reprint.

So, we’re just going to, you guessed it, Copy/Paste from Opus XV Crystal Dominion.

“Geomancer here comes in gives you a Crystal, that you can use to play Cecil. After that, Geomancer dulls and heads over to the Break Zone, and gives Cecil Brave on the way out.”

What was Cecil doing?

At least you can use Geomancer for Tama.

20-080C – Mandragora

Didn’t we already get this card last set? Let me check.

Nope we got a similar card, which combined with this one will leave your opponent hurting.

Mandragora becomes a Forward during your turn and whenever it deals damage to a Forward that Forward breaks. Like the Wind.

And if Mandragora deals damage to your opponent, Mandragora gets sent to the Break Zone, and you can grab a card from your Break Zone and add it to your hand. You can always pick another Mandragora from your Break Zone, rinse and repeat.

We currently have 3 Mandragora type cards. I’ll be keeping an eye on these, maybe someday we’ll be able to make a Madragora deck.

Cecil’s Dark Knights

Its the Red Wings! Sort of.

We’re starting off with Dark Knights.

Cecil, of course will be the first card that we’ll be putting in our deck. And, after looking at all of the Cecils available, we decided on 2 different Cecils. This way you can always have a Cecil on the field. Our main Cecil will be Cecil (15-073H). You’ll want a Crystal Generator on the field, before you play this one, or you can just go ahead and take the one point of damage. Because at 3 points of damage, Cecil will search for Cecil when he is sent into the Break Zone. And,as a true Dark Knight, Cecil will deal your opponent 2 points of damage with the help of Souleater.

The other Cecil is Opus I (1-108H). Cecil will be mostly used for the cost to pay for Souleater, but if he is on the field and you receive damage, Cecil will deal one of your opponent’s Forwards 5000 damage.

The rest of the Dark Knights are Graham (8-075C) who will break a Forward when he is put into the Break Zone. Zeid (25-024H) who can come in with Back Attack and every time Zeid is dealt damage, your opponent selects one of their dull Forwards and sends it to the Break Zone. And, Teodor (18-028L) 9CP? Yeah, no. We’re Warping! For 2CP Teodor will enter the field on your next turn. When he enters he field your opponent discards 2 cards, and since Teodor warped into the field, your opponent will discard another card as well.

We have Tilika EX (18-061R) to generate Crystals. Garland (IX) (8-026L) to keep your opponent’s Forwards at bay. 3 different Dark Knights. And a Baron Guardsman.

Our Backups include Tyro (11-072R) just because if you’re playing Earth you should play Tyro. The rest of the Backups include Crystal Generators and Dark Knights. Nothing special going on here.

Two Summons in this one. Zalera, the Death Seraph (24-026H) and Hecatoncheir (15-082H). You could probably add Cu Sith (10-068C) in here as well.

Monsters, just a handful Antlion (11-066C), Behemoth (19-066C) and Seeping Brie (17-073C)

And, the LB deck consists of 3 cards Maat (22-119R), Selh’teus (24-118R) and Noctis (23-125R). There’s still not much of a selection with the Limit Break cards, so we take what we can get.

Well this is what we got. What would you do different?

23-058C – Dark Knight

Oh wow, these Standard Unit Backups in this set are powerful. Sure, you need to have 5 Backups to get the full effect, but these Backups only cost 2CP.

Dark Knight comes in and gives a Forward. +1000 power and Brave.

If you have 5 Backups, then all of your Forwards gain +1000 power and Brave.

You can go all in swinging left and right with all of your Forwards, and then still have the resources to block your opponent’s attacks.

23-059C – Ignis EX

Noctis Is Down!! Hurry Phoenix Down!

That pretty much sums up Ignis.

When he enters the field you can grab a FFXV Character from your Break Zone, and add it to your hand. Not just Noct, but any XV Character that resides in there at that moment.

Best part is that this ability also comes off as an EX Burst.

Might be worth it … it’s always worth it if your grabbing cards from the Break Zone.

23-060L – Vincent

Beautiful card.

Though shall not pay 7CP to cast Vincent. Though shall pay 1CP to Warp Vincent. Vincent is Warp 6 meaning that 3 full turns need to pass before Vincent will enter the field. But the Warp Counters will reduce by one each time a Final Fantasy VII Character enters your field.

A ticking time-bomb, that once it goes off, you will Break one of your opponent’s Forwards and one of their Backups.
If you didn’t Warp Vincent, then you’ll just Break the Forward.

A Vincent worth playing?

23-061H – Warrior of Light

This is great.

If you have the CP, you can play a Standard Unit from the Break Zone at the begining of the Attack Phase. Doesn’t matter whose Attack Phase it is either! Yours. Your opponent’s. You can play that Standard Unit and buff up your defenses, add an attack, or play that Dark Knight from earlier, and give +1000 power and Brave to all of your Forwards.

You can also search for 2 Standard Units when Warrior of Light enters the field and send them to the Break Zone, so they’re ready for you whenever you’ll need them.

You can also splash any element with these Standard Units.

23-062H – Emet-Selch

Here’s one way to search for a high cost Forward.

And when you play a high cost Forward onto the field, Emet-Selch will deal another Forward 8000 damage.

And, that’s about it.

Other than that Emet-Selch costs 4CP, with a 8k body.

At least his ability to deal 8000 damage to a Forward goes off every time a high cost Forward enters the field. Maybe bounce that high cost Forward.

23-063C – Gladiolus

Gladiolus is ready to deal some serious damage, as long as his buddies are around.

Does that mean that this Gladiolus is a better play then the other Gladiolusi (? Gladioluses?)?

Probably not, but it might be fun to play in sealed, if there are more FFXV Characters in this set.

Gladiolus gains +1000 power and Brave if you have at least another FFXV Character on the field. Which you most likely will, or you won’t be playing Gladiolus.

Dawnhammer, Gladiolus’s Special ability that will 99% of the time break a Forward of your choosing.

23-064R – Golem

Would you like to see this Golem’s 3 card trick? He’s been hanging by the Korner with a Kardboard box and 3 cards. Would you like to try your luck?

I bet you do.

Choose a Forward, any Forward.

Now let’s flip over these 3 cards.

Grab one of the Forwards, return the other 2 to the bottom of your deck, and deal your Forwards Power as damage to the Forward that you have chosen.

Didn’t find a Forward?

Well, you’re out of luck.

23-065R – Gogmagog

Two heads are better than 1. 2 Monsters are better than one, too. And Gogmagog, is better with another monster on the field.

We already know that Gogmagog turns into a Forward with another Monster on the field.

So, let’s talk about what Gogmagog can do. Gogmagog can bring itself back from the Break Zone, as long as you remove a Monster in play from the game.

Should be good in any Monster deck.

23-066R – Jessie

Need a quick buff?

Jessie has 2 abilities that will buff you Forward.

The first one, she’ll buff any Final Fantasy VII Forward by 1000 power.

And secondly, If she buffs Cloud, Cloud will gain +2000 power.

Talk about favoritism.

23-067R – Shantotto

Do you recycle?

If so, Shantotto can help you get some recycled goods.

Shantotto comes in and grabs 2 Summons from either Break Zone. After that they are yours to keep until the end of the game, casting them whenever you need to.

This works good for you, as if your opponent is known for removing cards from your Break Zone, you can keep a couple of Summons that you know you’ll need later.

It’s like a side, side deck.

23-068C – SOLDIER Candidate

Earth’s Candidate to become a full fledged member of SOLDIER.

These are all pretty decent 2 cost Commons.

SOLDIER Candidate, come in and acts like Atlas?

… or was it Titan?

Well, SOLDIER Candidate comes in and you choose a Forward, and they deal damage to each other.

Might be a good way to get rid of a Forward.

23-069C – Narashima

Just like SOLDIER Candidate, only this time you choose your Forward that you want to trade blows with.

If you got an overpowered Forward, with plenty of buffs, well then this card is for you.

If you ask me, I’d pick Opus VII Fang, with 6 FFXIII Characters on the field, including Opus I Lebreaue. What’s that 11K?

I’m sure you can find a better Forward, but since Narashime is already a Category XIII Character. I stuck with that.

23-070H – Hythlodaeus

At first look I thought we were getting some Organization XIII cards. Then I realized we aren’t.

But, that doesn’t mean this isn’t a good card. In fact I think it’s great.

If Emet-Selch is on the field Hythlodaeus becomes a 3CP Forward with a 9K body.

That’s what you call a cheap Meat Shield. And, that is not the reason you’re playing this one.

You can use Hythlodaeus’s ability to put both her and Emet-Selch into the Break Zone. Then you shuffle your deck reveal the top 4 cards and play all the Characters onto the field.

If you’re lucky and all of your high cost Forwards pop up, you’ll be golden.

Just hope you don’t find any Summons there.

23-071C/15-080C – Geomancer

You know what time it is?

Copy/Paste time.

“Reprint.

Standard Unit.

Crystal.

Brave.

Maybe a Geomancer actually mines for Crystals.”

23-072 Brionac

A 5 cost Forward with 9000 power. Pretty normal for a Common, but during your Main Phase, you can remove 2 Earth cards from your Break Zone, from the game, and Brionac will gain +2000 power and Brave.

Brionac also has an ability that will deal 9000 damage to a Forward, but you’ll need a Crystal for that one.

If all you need is a Meat Shield, to block your opponent’s attacks, Brionac might be a good fit for you.

Best case scenario you find Brionac when you cast Golem.

23-073C – Prompto

Monster Hunter, or Monster Tamer?

Either way Prompto does things to Monsters that not many people do.

He takes pictures.

And those pictures will either Break a Monster, or Bring one back from the Break Zone.

???

Yeah, I got nothing.

23-074C – Wrieg

Here we are.

You can play Wrieg right before you play Prompto.

You’ll get your Monster back, and have a Forward and a Backup to show for it.

Is it worth playing?

I’d say that depends on if the Monster has an ability that goes off when it is put into the Break Zone.

At the very least, you’ll draw 2 Cards.

23-075R – Layle

A self sustainable Forward.

Layle comes in, gains a Crystal.

Layle attacks, gains a Crystal.

Layle attacks again, gains a Crystal.

Layle uses the Crystals when he is attacking and break a Monster or a Forward.

All this for 2CP.

23-076H – Regis

Regis might cost 7CP, but you get so much in return for that.

Regis comes in and you can grab a Final Fantasy XV Forward (of cost 5 or less) from your Break Zone, and play it straight to he field.

That alone will make Regis worth playing, but if you have already received 5 points of damage, you can go ahead and double that. This allows you to grab 2 XV Forwards from your Break Zone and play them straight to the field.

3 Forwards on the field for 7CP? Sounds like a good deal to me!

22-037R – Alexander

Oh?
I read this card wrong the first time I read it.

Now that I’m looking at it, this is a great card. Alexander comes in and casts reflect on one of your Forwards, sending that damage to one of your opponent’s Forwards instead. The best thing is that you get to choose the Forward, rather than have it randomly chosen when the damage hits.

And, if you only paid with Backups to cast Alexander, you will also draw a Card, making Alexander a 1 cost Summon.

I’ll gladly add this Alexander to a Wind deck. Probably the best Alexander yet.

22-038C – Wol

Wol has 2 abilities, one which is good, and the other is ok.

The first one will allow you to choose a High cost Forward and send it to the Break Zone. The other allows you to look at the top 5 cards of your deck and add a Wind Character to your hand.

You’ll most likely be playing this card to get rid of that High cost Forward.

I don’t got much else for this.

22-039C – Epiornis

This is a Common?

I have to say this is a great card, and at 2 CP it is the perfect monster to have on the field, once you get 3 points of damage.

Why is that?

Well, Epiornis becomes a Forward during your turn. And, Epiornis cannot be bloced by a Forward with a cost of 4CP. That in itself is great. But, if you already have received 3 points of damage, Epiornis cannot be blocked by a Forward of 3CP or less. Thus, making Epiornis unstoppable.

The only way that you can stop Epiornis’s attack, is by a Summon or ability that will deal it damage, or by sending it straight to the Break Zone.

Now, imagine if you have 3 of these on the field.

22-040H – Enkidu

A 3 cost Warrior that will activate 3 of your Backups when he enters the field. Thus making Enkidu a free play.

After that he’ll stick around as a 7K power body, attacking and blocking like he normally would.

This card also sticks to the story, allowing Gilgamesh to call on him when he enters the field. Enkidu must be in the Break Zone when Gilgamesh enters the field. Then you’ll pay 2CP and bring Enkidu in, while activating 3 Backups.

Gilgamesh (7-088L) would be a great choice. You’ll end up only paying 1CP for both Gilgamesh and Enkidu.

You don’t even need to play Wind/Lightning, you can just throw in Enkidu since you won’t need to pay by color if Enkidu is in the Break Zone.

22-041C – Kain

Haste, and First Strike for a Common?

Activate 2 Characters when Kain Attacks?

+1000 power at 3 points of Damage?

How is this a common?

Whatever Rarity Kain has, this card is great. Actually it’s GRRRRREAT!

And, don’t get me started on the artwork, because we’re not here to talk about the artwork.

Just throw Kain into any Wind deck and you’ll do fine.

22-042C – Ranger

Your Standard 2 cost Backup.

Ranger is straight to the point, just like his arrows fly straight towards their target.

Or something like that.

Ranger has 2 abilities. One deals a 2CP Forward 5000 damage, possibly breaking it, and the other breaks a Monster.

Both of these are useful.

And, there aren’t that many ways to get rid of Monsters and Ranger here provides you with a way.

22-043C – Clavat

Simple, basic and straight to the point.

Clavat comes in for 1CP and allows you to look at the top card of your deck. If you like it you can keep it there. If not send it to the bottom of your deck.

It does have plenty of benefits.

Depending on what you see there, your game plan will change for this turn.

Do you see an EX Burst that will cause plenty of damage to your opponent. Leave it there and take a point of Damage. Do you see the card you need to put your plan into motion, play that card that allows you to draw a card.

Worst case is that you don’t like the card, and you can just recycle it to the bottom.

22-044R – Cid (FFBE)

Cid has an ability that activates during very Attack Phase, which is something that makes Cid even more valuable as the game goes on.

You can either Activate 2 Characters, or you can grant all of your Forwards protection from all Summons that choose them.
4CP isn’t alot to pay to Activate a couple of Characters once per turn. Plus you get an 8k body that will be hard to get rid of. Because, once Cid is put into the Break Zone, you can pay 3CP and return Cid to the field. That’s cheaper than playing Cid from your hand.

I like this one.

22-045C – Sosha

4 cost Dragoon that turns into a 2CP Forward if you have a Dragoon already on the field.

2CP for an 8k body isn’t bad at all.

Sosha can also throw her spear onto a Forward of your choosing, dealing it 4000 damage. Best thing is that you don’t need to send her to the Break Zone in order to do it. Just dull Sosha and you’ll be dealing 4000 damage.

This is a decent card. Simple, effective and straight to the point.

If you’re playing Dragoons, you should try adding Sosha.

22-046R – Chelinka

Chelinka here to give Yuri some support, granting him Haste. You’ll just need another Crystal Chronicles Character on the field when you play Yuri, so you’ll have a total of 3 FFCC Characters on the field.

Other than that, that is it.

2CP, 5000 power.

22-047L – Dorgann

The Art of Removal.

Dorgann, has three different abilities that activate when he enters the field, and yes, you guessed it, they all are removal abilities.

Remove a Forward, Remove a Monster, Remove 2 cards from the Break Zone.

You’ll get to choose one of those abilities to activate. But, if you already played another 2 cards before you play Dorgann, you’ll get to use 2 of these abilities instead.

Meaning that you will probably end up paying only 2CP for Dorgann to come into play.

22-048H – Nanaa Mihgo

Yes, Yes, Yes.

I’ll take 3. I’d take more if I would be able to add more to my deck.

Nanaa Mihgo is a Robber, and she’s here to rob some of your cards and use those same cards against you.

That 2 cost Forward in their Break Zone? Check.

The 3 cost Summon in their Break Zone? Check as well.

You won’t even need to pay for the cost either, they just come into play as soon as Nanna Mihgo comes into the field.

Actually, no you don’t want this card. I’ll give you a dollar for your Full Arts. No? It was worth a try.

22-049H – Bartz

Well, Bartz if you’re not in a Warrior of Light deck, you shall be useless. The only thing you’ll have going for you would be a 5000 power body on the field just hanging around with nothing to do.

But, if you are playing a Warrior of Light deck, he becomes a little bit better.

Bartz has the ability to not be chosen by your opponents abilities, if you remove 3 Warrior of Light Characters from your Break Zone, and it lasts until the end of the turn.

The other ability, is the S ability, where you can pay the cost of a card, then you can search for it and play it onto the field. Which is pretty good. You’ll be able to play any Warrior of Light card in your deck straight to the field.

22-050C – Geomancer

Here we are, a decent Standard Unit Forward.

I like this one.

Geomancer has auto protection from your opponent’s abilities. Not all of them just the ones that can choose Geomancer.
And, if you already have a couple of Standard Unit Backups on the field, you get to Activate 3 of your Backups. Which in turn will make Geomancer a 1 cost Forward with an 8k body.

Can’t get much better than that.

22-051R – Hope

Hope is hidden in Hidden Hope.

You would have thought that he would have been on the box art.

Hope comes in and you get to reveal the top 4 cards of your deck, and grabbing a FFXIII Forward from there. If you don’t find one, they all go to the bottom of your deck.

At 2CP that isn’t bad at all. You might get a free play, if you do find a FFXIII Forward there.

And, if you ever needed a way to get rid of a high powered Forward, Hope here is your answer. With Aeroga, you can Break a Forward with at least 9000 power. And, we do have a more than enough targets for Aeroga.

22-052H – Helena Leonis

Helena Leonis was turning into a great Character, and then I stopped playing War of the Visions.

As we can see she is a Green Mage as well. Although she doesn’t have any attacking spells or abilities, she does allow you to look at the top 2 cards of your deck. One is put at the bottom of your deck, the other is removed from the game.

Now, why would you want to pay a Crystal to look at the top 2 cards of your deck, remove 1 and place the other at the bottom of your deck?

Well, the card you removed, you can cast it this turn for it’s cost minus 2 CP.

You might get a free play, which is always good in my book.

22-053C – Lilisette EX

“Put on your red shoes and dance the blues,
To the song they’re playing on the radio”

And, while we’re dancing Lilisette will come into the field, and deal one of your opponent’s Forwards 1000 damage for each Character you control. Forwards, Backups, and Monsters. Anything goes, Tonight.

You’ll most likely break something with Lilisette.

And, if you find a way to bounce her. You can do even more damage.

Let’s not forget this also comes off as an EX Burst.

22-054R – Reddas

Are Sky Pirates making a comeback? Yes, I’m basing this off of this one card, because Reddas is pretty good, and he’s not even a Legend, or a Hero.

If you have 5 Sky Pirates already on the field, Reddas is a free 9k Body, that will grant all of your other Sky Pirates some protection from Summons.

Your opponent will sure have some trouble trying to get rid of this one.

And, that’s all I need to say here, If you’re playing Sky Pirates, you better be playing Reddas.

Dawn of Heroes – Bucket of Dirt

20-064C – Arkasodara

I like this elephant man.

A simple 3 cost Backup that will either Break one of your opponents dull Forwards, or your opponent will pay 3CP for them to save that Forward.

Either way your opponent will lose part of their strategy due to them having inefficient funds, or due to them being down a Forward that they needed.

I like it, I’ll take it.

20-065H – Antlion (IV)

I remember fighting Antlion in FFIV to in order to get the Sand Pearl to save Rosa from desert fever.

Now the Antlion is back, and it is still angry. Must be all the monsters roaming the Antlion Den.

As a Monster, Antlion doesn’t have a special ability, it just waits for Backups to come and go, so it can turn itself into a Forward.

Once it’s a Forward it is something to deal with. With 9000 power and it’s counter ability, that will deal the same damage it received and deal it to another one of your opponents Forwards. Which one? Anyone you’d like.

Yes, I like it.

20-066R – Ignis

At the time of writing I just finished writing about Gnash.

Well, Ignis is the perfect answer to Gnash, Ignis is also one of the Backups that can be chosen by Gnash.

Ignis enters, and you can chuck a Backup and break one of your opponents Forwards.

Not only that, but on the same turn when you send that Backup to the Break Zone, you can grab a Forward from the Break Zone.

End of the day, Ignis has a way of recycling that Forward you need when he is sent to the Break Zone. After all is said and done, you’ll still have a 9K body on the field.

20-067R – Ifalna

Aerith’s mother. That’s all I’ll say in case there are people living under a rock, and haven’t played FFVII yet.

A great 2 cost Backup, that will grab an Earth Forward from your Break Zone and play it straight to the field.

This is actually really good, especially if all of your Opus XIV Clouds are in the Break Zone, and you have no other way of bringing them back.

We need more cards with support Characters that we haven’t seen yet.

20-068R – Aerith

We’ll have Aerith right next to Ifalna in our Binders.

What ever you do, you’re Warping Aerith in. There is no reason to pay 2CP to make her just a 5K body. Aerith is much more than that. Just ask Zack.

Aerith Warps in and grabs a Forward from your Break Zone.

After she grabs that Forward, that’s when she becomes a 5K body.

The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree. Both Ifalna and Aerith pretty much have the same ability.

20-069H – Chaos

Oh, this is nice.

Chaos causing Chaos just cause his name is Chaos.

Or something like that.

Chaos is a 6CP Forward, that let’s you search for a 4CP Dark Forward and play it onto the field. This will make Chaos a 2CP/9K body, and depending on which Dark Forward you choose you can probably put some hurt on your opponent. Too bad Sterne Leonis is banned, cause that would have been fun. For you, not your opponent.

And that’s not all.

If Chaos is in the Break Zone you can remove Chaos and 2 Dark Characters from the game to Break a Forward of your choosing.

The OG Dark Lord will take vengeance on the Warriors of Light. Maybe that’s what the 2000 year time loop is for.

*queue Alice Cooper’s “Vengeance is Mine”

20-070C – Leatherworker

Uhm, lots of Earth Backups that get played for free.

Free is usually a good thing, when they have a decent enter the field ability. Or any ability at all.

Where’s the Copy/Paste button when you need it?

20-071C – Ciaran

Here’s your Crystal pumping machine. As long as Ciaran stays on the field and attacks, you’ll be gaining a Crystal each turn.
He can actually use the Crystals himself and gain a 2K buff until the end of the turn.

Other than that, Dark Sword is a decent Special ability that deals a Forward (3000xpoints of damage you received). And you don’t even need to dull Ciaran in order to use it.

There are 2 different Ciarans meaning you can use this ability up to 5 times in one turn. But, only if all the Ciarans are in your hand.

20-072C – Gigas

A Giant? Let’s call him Andre.

Andre comes in and pretty much stops one of your opponents Forwards. Stuns? That Forward will not be able to Attack or Block until the end of their turn. Allowing your tiny Forwards to get some attacks in without the fear of being blocked by a big body.

Gigas … I mean Andre once he’s done Stopping that big body, can be sent to the Break Zone dealing a Forward 8000 damage on the way.

20-073C – Kimahri

This is the same as Auron. Only difference is that it’s Earth, and the art on Auron’s card is way better.

Just use what I said about Auron and change the name to Kimahri. And, the damage to 4000.

20-074C – Miner

3CP to hopefully find a Backup.

If there is a Backup in the top 5 cards of your deck, then Miner will only cost you 1CP.

I think I like the other Miner better.

At least, if you don’t know what to do, you can always put Miner in the Break Zone and draw a card.

20-075L – Cecil

Is 3 CP worth a point of damage?

Depends on what you’re playing. If you need that point of damage to buff up all your Forwards because you just received 5 points of damage then go right ahead.

Besides that, Cecil remains true to his story. As he can turn his Dark Knight self, into a Paladin. All you have to do is cross the mirror. Or get sent to the Break Zone. Whichever one is easier. For when you put Cecil into the Break Zone, you can search for a Paladin Cecil, and play him onto the field.

That Emissaries of Light Cecil, is looking good with this right now.

And Tenebrous Blast, just a special ability that deals 8000 damage to a Forward.

20-076C – Sonon

Let’s see, Melphie searches for Sonon, and if Melphie is in the Break Zone, Sonon gains a 1K buff and Brave.

Not bad, for a common.

You got a 9k body on the field, ready to block all of your opponents attacks.

If Sonon is in the Break Zone, hanging out with Melphie, you can remove them from the game a draw a card.

20-077L – Tifa

Another Tifa?

2 in one set? When was the last time that happened?

All the way back to Opus I? I guess, I always thought that there were a lot more Tifas. Apparently there are only 9.

19 Lightnings but, who’s counting?

1CP for a 9K body? Sure, I’ll take it. When Tifa enters the field you must discard 2 cards.

Tifa already has Brave, and if you pay 2CP she can attack again. And, if you have 2 more CP you can attack again, and again. I see an infinite loop somewhere, where someone will figure out how to keep activating all of their Backups in order to have TIfa attack over and over, til it’s game over.

You can’t discard 2 cards if you don’t have any cards in your hand. *Hint Hint.

20-078H – Noctis

The Prince is back, and is becoming quite a regular.

Noctis comes in, and buffs a Forward with +2000 power and Brave, for the rest of the turn.

After that Noctis will hand around the field, until he is sent to the Break Zone, and when he does get sent to the Break Zone, you can put one of your Characters in the Break Zone and play Noctis on the field with a permanent 2K buff.

20-079C/15-080C – Geomancer

Reprint.

Standard Unit.

Crystal.

Brave.

Maybe a Geomancer actually mines for Crystals.

20-080R – Fake

The first time I saw this card I thought it was a Fake, and didn’t pay much attention to it.

And, then I read the card wrong, and had to rewrite this.

For 2CP it’s worth giving a shot. Even if Fake can’t attack or block until it sees 2 points of damage.

2CP for a 10K body, sign me up.

20-081H – Fenrir

Is this what I think it is?

A Free Summon?

Yes, why yes it is! But, only sometimes.

Fenrir a 1 cost Summon that protects your Forwards from your opponents Summons.

And, if that Forward costs only 1CP, Fenrir is Free!!!

1CP isn’t that much to pay, but Free is better.

20-082C – Mira EX

The Dark Lord is back to help you find your Monsters.

And she does a good job at it, as long as there is a Monster in the top 5 cards of your deck.

After that she has a 3k body, that will fend off at least one attack. OR you can just put her in the Break Zone, and grant one of your monsters the ability to not be broken.

20-083R – The Magus Sisters (XIV)

At first I thought this was a Summon.

Then I realized that it is not.

What’s good about them is that your opponent can’t use Haste.

Which isn’t really a bad thing as most players don’t really have a lot of Haste cards. But, if you’re using my Haste deck well, it’ll really put a foil in your plans.

20-084R – Leo

See, this is what a King does, he looks out for his people, before charging them taxes and what not.

Leo, a 6CP Backup that when entering the field searches for a FFCC Forward and plays it onto the field.

Think about it for a second.

You pay 6CP for Leo, Find Yuri and play Yuri onto the field. Then you’ll discard a card, and search for Chelinka and play Chelinka onto the field. If you get this off turn one, you’ll be set for the game.

Oh, and let’s not forget the 1K buff to all the FFCC Forwards.
